The game received mixed reviews and ranged from a lowly 5 upwards to 8+.

What did everyone here think about it personally?

Wizard simulator. The magic system requires actual thought and experimentation. Everything else about the game isn't nearly as impressive but it's perfectly adequate/standard wrpg fare.

This game is for people who enjoy side looting, lots of side quest (many of them well worth the effort). Some people may be put off by the gringing and gofor missions (side quest). I am is chapter 3 and WRPG are my favourite genre. I will give this game 8/10 at this point.

I thought it was a decent rpg. Has some tech issues and stuff but also has some good stuff going for it. If u need a rpg for a it i recommend it. Online is fun as well.

The online co-op was fun, but I only tried it for a little while. I need to jump back in once I finish Killzone 3.

My impressions are as follows:

It started off pretty bad. Long tutorial, atrocious voice acting/lip sync, that sort of stuff. But then, it kinda gets "B" movie type funny, so it wasn't so bad.

Then when it opened up I started to really like it.

By mid chapter 2 (of 4), I grew tired of having to sift through the mindless side quests to find the truely great ones. In the end, I got tired of the the questing tedium, rushed through the 3rd chapter (Each chapter is alot short than the one preceding it), and beat the game in about 22 hours. Also, it gets old when you realize you can just run past most of the enemies because you can still get a sizeable amount of XP by just completing the quests. Once you realize that, the game unravels real fast.

If you can find this in the bargain bin, or you are DYING to play an open world RPG, then this game certainly will fit the bill, but don't be expecting anything amazing. At this point, I'd probably say to save your money and wait for Dragon Age 2 to come out.

Again, just my .02 but with all the great games coming out this year, why wast time on just a slightly above average game...meh...average.

I never get tired of hearing people talking about running by combat and then complaining the game only runs at about 22hrs.

I finished the first chapter with 30hrs under my belt. Defeating the enemies actually gives you the ability to loot their bodies for more weapons and items. You get nice larger chunks of XP for defeating certain types of enemies.

just half way through chapter 2 I am looking forward to finishing the game. (and not just running through to get to the end)

The game is worth the money invested in it. It has it's faults but none that detracts enough from the enjoyment I am getting from it.

My .02 tells you if you are an RPG fan then buy it. I haven't even finished the add ons for Dragon Age 1 yet so don't need to hold out for part 2, I will get it when I am ready... until then I will enjoy my time with another good RPG.

I beat all side quests and main story and did it in 33 hours. I did not rush just killed everything in sight and finished playing at level 42. Traded in today for mass effect 2, got 26 bucks. Pretty descent game for 35 bucks. Combat gets too easy and you don't even have to try once you get leveled up so I got pretty bored. I liked playing for the most part. Exploration is pointless since the game is pretty much an empty shell. Main island areas are inaccessible and the areas you can explore don't really give you any kind of reward in terms of rare weapons or armor.

I enjoyed this game on my X360, much better than the first one. Sucks we have to wait so long for TW3. I hope they port this game to PS4/X1 in the meantime, especially after all these updates and new expansions. Would certainly help build some hype for the third entry, at least a little.

Yes it's a very underrated games I'm all so hoping it gets port to ps4 one day

Guess they're officially done milking the only passable game they've released. They can always rename Raven's Cry again and pull a couple more sales from the unknowing public.

Played this on PS3 it wasn’t bad for a B game but in no way did it “offer an array of unique approaches to classic game elements” and sure as hell didn’t push any envelopes. Why release this multiplayer so many years later ? They should re-release for this gen consoles for 19.99 with the updates

I enjoyed this game, much better than the first one. With Two Worlds 3 coming next year, I would love to see a remaster of this on current gen.

lol what ? i thought this 2010/2011 game was dead already and now they are adding micro transactions ?? at least as the article said they are adding dlcs.

From the same people that provided me a review copy of Raven's Cry then, when I gave the game a 1 due to the fact I found it unfinished, threatened me with defamation (nothing ever happened there).
Then, when they re-released the game on Steam as "Vendetta" claimed everything was fixed (even though it wasn't broken in the first place, right), but then refused to give me code for the re-release.

That re-release sits at a highly negative status on Steam, with most claiming they can't even run the game.
Just saying.

TheColbertinator2656d ago

Raven's Cry was broken. Everything gaming shouldn't be.

MilkMan2656d ago

Huh? I thought this game was done and done?
