Zipper Interactive Game Director Seth Luisi explains the decision to add a female South Korean to the cast of main characters in SOCOM 4 -- and why the game isn't actually set in South Korea.
Alex S. from Link-Cable writes: "Gaming’s past is full of wonderful memories, many of which include some of our favorite moments in all of video games and helped shape our current gaming habits. And, thanks to the awesomeness that is the PlayStation, many of these memories can be found in Sony’s franchises. But what happens when a great franchise or IP just disappears? While sometimes its just forgotten, never to be heard from again that’s not something that we here at Link-Cable can bear the thought of. So for this week’s Top 10 we are taking a look at the Top 10 Forgotten Sony Franchises and also crossing our fingers that someone with the power to bring these back just happens to stumble across this list."
Don’t forget Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy, Legend of Dragoon, Freedom Wars, Invisimals, Lemmings, Modnation Racers, Pursuit Force, Resistance, Siren, Soul Sacrifice, Mark of Kri, & Wild Arms
To be fair, many of those are not forgotten. They just ran their course while others were not given the respect they deserved to garner a continuation. Games that are one-offs probably had no intention of making them into series but I do wish they would rethink that. Some deserve to be given a follow-up.
Agreed. Maybe Sony can contract Bluepoint to remaster Heavenly Sword, see people's reaction to the game and decide wether to give the go for a sequel.
Also Lair can be remastered es as a PSVR game and take it from there.
Legacy of Kain would fit right in there, although sony has no rights to that IP as far as I'm aware.
Ah later instalments were not sony exclusive, so dont mind me sir :p
To be fair, Wild Arms did run its course, was effectively run into the ground, going by example of last entry using characters from all games. Being an STG title on the PSP.
Could always revive the western/steampunk setting.
I know right! I'm still waiting for someone at Sony to make the Getaway 3 lol
I always wondered what the PlayStation 3 version was going to be like.
Finally someone mentioned Soul Sacrifice, Siren, Legend of Dragoon, and Freedom Wars. Those games are in desperate of a new installment. Especially with Folkore.
Lemmings was a franchise waaaaay before even the PS1 saw the light of day. Nobody's forgotten it.
I'm not sure single games would be considered franchises. If you want to say Heavenly Sword is one, I'd also put Enslaved on the list. Loco Roco is in the same boat as Patapon. But things like Tomba are certainly missed.
There was going to be a sequel to Enslaved. Unfortunately it never left the drawing board. Hopefully someday it will be realized.
How can you all something a franchise if it only has one installment?
At that point it’s just an IP. You can only call it a franchise when there’s multiple installments.
you should look up the definition of a franchise.
If there is more than just a game, say merchandise its already a franchise.
I understand what the Fallen is trying to say, simply saying how could you suggest a game with only one installment as a franchise in regards to a series in terms of multiple games.
Even though, yes franchise can be considered what you stated in this context that's not really what's being talked about.
Sly Cooper is not forgotten. They even making a TV show, I am hoping they Remake the first 3 games from scratch like Ratchet & Clank did.
@DJK1NG_Gaming I didn't mention the movie because probably got cancelled since Ratchet & Clank movie flop and Sony might not take another chance but Sly Cooper is having it own TV series.
I would, actually. It's probably dirt cheap right now on Ebay or similar stores.
It's kind of a mix between adventure/detective and 3rd person action, where you fight different, interesting monsters called «folks» and «consume» their souls to use as weapons (up to 4 at a time, you can upgrade them as well, when meet certain requirements and you can also freely switch between souls in a menu).
Story is solid, locations are beautiful, battles are engaging. Game's not perfect, though, there are FPS drops, you have to use Sixaxis to capture some souls and if you use one character, game will just stop you before the final chapter and force to play as other character.
My advice to you, if you'll decide to play the game, is to switch between characters, will save you some headache.
Oh, and, if you want, you can check out HyperBitHero review, he pretty much summarizes all my opinions on this game! )
Using Sixaxis to capture souls was really well done though.
Even though I don't think you could disable it, I think it was one of the better implementations of motion controls.
Then again, I liked throwing nades with motion controls in Uncharted.
You mean gotty contenders with high production values (acting, story, animation, etc) including, sadly for you, best graphics.
They're busy making games with substance, great stories and great gameplay. Clearly too much for you to handle
I would love to see them make a new (or based on an existing franchise) jrpg or tactics game with a new twist on it or just fully traditional.
I personally would love to see a Bloodborne tactics game, they could do some cool stuff with soul collecting and creating/upgrading characters with those souls. Story wise it would be a bit harder I imagine. I also think a tactics game would fit the souls series since they are pretty punishing in general.
Ironically Sony, creator of the PlayStation brand, has trouble keeping a RPG franchise longrunning
Why would that be ironic?
Through the PS1 Sony allowed for more diversified games and story style, more mature storytelling than Nintendo did at the time, but as far as JRPGs back then much of that was either 3rd party or 2rd party that went 3rd during the PS2 era.
The genre needs the kind of creative freedom those eras allowed. And while some of that is being seen in the indie scene what's offered often lacks polish that a better funded production would offer.
Because PlayStation has always been a bastion for RPGs, yet Sony themselves can’t maintain a longrunning one for themselves
Well that's not as ironic as you might think there is a specific reason behind that.
You have to consider if your Sony Computer Entertainment and you're looking to diversify your library it's kind of hard to do that when you already have the top Japanese RPGs being released for your system in terms of Dragon Quest Final Fantasy Kingdom Hearts what have you.
So to them, it made sense to Simply focus on franchises and properties that could not be found on PlayStation. When you really look at it it makes sense it's simply trying to say that they're jrpg genre for PlayStation is not in trouble it is not lacking and it is at the top of the industry.
I believe the PlayStation literally is the only platform to even buy Japanese RPGs with great certainty you're going to get the most variety and volume. So to them, they already won they already got the most so why spend money on the genre that you're already number one in?
It actually makes more sense to Simply make something other than that.
@ Mako
That’s to be expected of any cash cow franchise. Look how many installments of Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, Kirby, Sonic, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, The Sims, Tomb Raider, Madden, Call of Duty, Tales of, Assassin’s Creed, FIFA, God of War, Grand Theft Auto, Battlefield, Gran Turismo, Need For Speed, & Mortal Kombat there’ve been. Not to mention how much mediums some of these franchises have expanded to.
Idk why you felt the need to single out how Microsoft treats the Halo franchise when this is pretty much a common occurrence in the industry.
Did you just call Warhawk an RPG?
What I’m saying is that it wouldn’t kill Sony to maintain an RPG franchise of their own, especially when they have so many great ones lying around like Wild Arms, Legend of Dragoon, Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy, Untold Legends etc.
@ Edmix
There’s no specific reason for Sony to abandon so many of their RPG franchises.
PlayStation as a brand is bastion to most genres in the industry for more than two decades. By your logic Sony wouldn’t have any reason to maintain any of their franchises from any genre since third parties typically bring most of their games to the PlayStation brand anyway & succeed in doing so.
There’s no reason Sony couldn’t have one of their own as well. I’d hate to see so many of them not receive any follow ups after one or two follow ups.
My point is that when a series is successful, you can pretty much expect a log of sequels.
I still don’t why you’d mention Halo since a Sony RPG series wouldn’t have anywhere that much exposure. Halo is Microsoft’s flagship franchise so of course they’d leverage it as any company would with a cash cow series.
No RPG series Sony makes would be as successful as Halo, so let’s just take that ridiculous extreme out of the equation. That doesn’t mean Sony shouldn’t be able to maintain an RPG series of their own.
Whatever your beef is with Microsoft and their Halo franchise is really irrelevant to this topic. You say you’d like to see sequels to Demon’s Souls and Bloodborne and that just further justifies what I’m saying. Sony has quite a number of RPG franchises they can nurture and they let a lot of them go by the wayside.
@ Mako
There are also a lot of shooters, sports games, platformers, racing games, action adventure games on PlayStation from third parties yet Sony still produces a lot of titles in those genres so you’re argument is still invalid.
Quit bringing up Demon’s Souls like Sony will actually revisit it or that they even hold it in high esteem these days. It’s currently in the same position as their other RPG franchises that aren’t getting followups.
Sony does offer diversity, and they could still use that to offer an ongoing RPG franchise of their own. It shouldn’t be an impossible task like you’re trying to make it out to be, and there’s no excuse for why the can’t sustain one for a long period.
I didn’t say they needed to make a sequel every year. Why do you keep taking that extreme way of thinking. I can’t think of any RPG franchise that has annual outings.
Nobody said Sony shouldn’t do anything new, I’m saying they shouldn’t be abandoning so many RPG franchises all the time.
Seriously quit bringing up Halo
Would like to see a WarHawk that's more flight sim than COD clone. Plus as mating between Uncharted and a 'flight sim".
For me, Heavenly sword, Modnation or similar. Maybe crash racing but a total remake.
I have no idea why nobody has just copied the Mario Kart system. It would sell.
But Resistance I would buy. Would love 3 remasters. and then a 4th game.
Technically there was a 4th and 5th game. Resistance: Retribution as well as Burning Skies. They weren't bad but they were only on the psp & Vita.
I agree with that list. I would love Sony to revive Syphon Filter, Ape Escape, Warhawk and Socom. Warhawk and Socom can also take advantage and add in a battle royal mode.
Legend of Dragoon, Syphon Filter, Ape Escape, Dark Cloud, Arc the Lad, Twisted Metal, etc.
Omg there's so many
Damn do I wish they would do something more with Heavenly Sword, but only if Ninja Theory has it.
Heavenly Sword was great, but not a franchise. Although I gather Hellblade is somewhat of a spiritual successor
I NEED A NEXT GEN MOTORSTORM! Favorite racing franchise ever, it would make a KILLING!
please please please Sony Make another motorstorm!
Heavenly Sword was also amazing, don't get how it never got a sequel!
I agree so much! I love those 2 games and just showed my kids motorstorm without any hype or preview so I could get their honest reaction, and they were blown away.
They did mention it would be cool if they could drive off the track like forza horizon 2 and I thought maybe I show them Fuel which I have on 4kpc.
About 70% of that list isn't forgotten. Heavenly Sword got a movie in 2014, Socom has about 4 different clones on pc releasing this year or already released, Syphon Fliter finished its story and is fondly remembered, most of the Warhawk players moved to Starhawk and would love a sequel to either lastly people still want more Motorstorm (I know I do).
More like forgotten IP's
Man PS3 gen despite what many said is actually one of the best Sony console in terms of games and I would say is second only to the PS2.
I owned a PS3 and to be honest a lot of those games were forgotten for a reason............they sucked and were over-hyped.
Heavenly sword was such a great game. Warhawk was like crack for the first month I had it, if I wasn't playing it I was thinking about it lol. Sad but true statement is they don't make them like that anymore :(
Seriously? You bring up combat flight games and you don’t mention Colony Wars? I loved the original Warhawk as well but the Colony Wars series was far superior. We need more space flight games like that, can you imagine with modern graphics and possibly even multiplayer space battles?
I'd like to see tenchu or vandal hearts get a modern take. Miss command and conquer aswell.
This list is terrible. Just like the rest of Link-cables content. The site that boasts itself on this website.
Syphon Filter, Warhawk, and Legend of Dragoon all need to come back. To be honest, I'm surprised they haven't been revived already.
Syphon Filter was great back in the PS1 days. I missed out on the PS2 and chose to get an Xbox instead :( so I missed out on the PS2 SF games, but I would love to play as Gabe Logan again.
Missed out on Socom as well
Never played Ape Escape, but I would like to.
Bring back Killzone in a few years, with the older style of gameplay and the M82!
Bring back Resistance, but with excellent storytelling and vicious aliens.
Of the games on this list both Heavenly Sword and Syphon Filter are in need of sequels.
SOCOM is coming out sometime this year under a new name and mostly same developers as before. "H-Hour world's elite"
Support it on Steam, it's only £5.99..and hopefully we get a great version on the Ps4..
Been craving a solid, evolved version of Katamari. The PlayStation 4 Pro could handle tens-of-thousands of random objects being rolled, bowled and strolled.
While we're dreaming might as well throw King's Field in there, maybe Pandemonium, and heck, I'd absolutely love a proper Discworld remake.
Opinion:
Seems overwhelmingly likely to me that another Ape Escape will happen at some point.
Criticism:
As you acknowledge in the article, LocoRoco has gotten a PS4 release. If you're going to do the laziest thing in the world, which is write a Top 10 list where you just list off some games you can think off, maybe at least get 10 games that really fit in. Resistance, for instance, is a huge Sony-owned franchise that hasn't seen light of day on PS4.
Also, some of these are just one off games.
I don't want to sound like a sourpuss. I enjoyed reading the article, but put some of that Gordon Ramsay passion in your work. Or at least some Jamie Oliver passion.
Fuse. Not sure if it has been mentioned but I bought it in a bargain bin years ago after researching sony exclusives. I liked the beginning but I was a gfx snob idiot at the time with my new 4kpc and left it. Recently showed my 9 year old boys and they are freaking addicted to it, split screen coop.
My favorite jrpg games of all time, Suikoden series. Don't like the fourth one.
Last year I wrote an article titled, The State of SOCOM. I discussed my
love and history for the beloved third person shooter that helped pioneer
online multiplayer on consoles. It has been six years since we last had a
new SOCOM game.
Baffles me as to why they have not done anything with this franchise. Seeing as how it was #1 on the official PlayStation poll.
With all the trash put up weekly on the App Store why has nobody done a clone of this yet. I've been playing Defiance as my go to 3rd person since 2013 but still nothing like that old school Socom/Socom 2 up all night gameplay.
the only game on that list that's like socom is wild land if you want socom type games then you will have to invest in a PC
You are looking at the view point I.e 3rd person view. Rainbow six siege is probably most like socom aside from H-Hour
RAINBOW SIX: is the closest you'll get to Socom.
Also, in response to @lookatthisi
They let go the creators, and I think socom is a game that's hard to clone even the creators had a hard time making Socom 2, Socom 3.
No way man. The devs at Trion made Defiance. I know different genres different games but this could have very easily turned into a war game rather than a kill the mutants/aliens games. Ghost recon actual gameplay is about the closest to the old Socom feel due to the squad format and team commands but it was still clunky at times. Using the wheel was cumbersome to command teammates and strategies on how you approcahed a scenario.
FFS you could control your teammates with a microphone in the ps2 days. You can't tell me that it is that hard when people throw up mods on the pc all the time that mirror the original games using random game engines. These are professionals with money/tech that most people don't have access to.
(Seth Luisi was the problem at zipper, he tried capturing ghost recon/cod fans with Socom by slowly turning the Socom series into Frankenstein GR/COD lite games)
Getting that feel, that rush being the last one alive, Rainbow Six is the closest I got to that feeling since Confrontation. And we all know that was a horrible Socom, but looking back at it, SC was a great game just had a horrible release.
I didn't play defiance, but ghost recon is and was trash.
A lot will defend Seth saying he was a puppet, but his inactions or actions didn't help. He helped ruin the franchise.
socom or nothing
I play ghost recon and a bunch of others, but there's NOTHING like socom
Sure people cried they wanted an old school socom 2, but Confrontation was easily the best iteration when it was said and done(prior to glitching/hacking after Cold Front released)
Perfect Confrontation, add a campaign, co-op, keep online 8v8. it is quite obvious what worked in socom 2, 3, ca, confrontation, combine them all in one and do not try to make some spinoff bs 3rd person CoD bs that bombed in Socom 4.
Sean @ FG: "Dear Sony, We need to talk about SOCOM."
to which one? You wouldn't like to be able to use the aim controller for socom? Using a dual shock is more believable?
And why can't VR be an option? I never said to make the game VR exclusive did I?
No to both. If Socom comes back it needs to come back in all of it's old school glory.
@Silly gameAr - so not giving people options is the way to go? I mean if you are so against the aim controller couldn't you just use a dual shock instead? Maybe I am asking too much to have choices to suit different play styles.
I agree liquid. Make it like old school socom. I wanna hide claymores in the grass again 😎
It's good to have options, but those options just wouldn't suit a game like Socom.
@Neonridr No to both.
Socom 4 allowed you to use the PS Move, it was trash and a waste of development time. They could do a VR firing range or something and I'm sure it would be alright, but if Socom is going to return then they need to stick to basics and provide what fans of the franchise liked. Pointless additions like aim controller and VR support will only bloat development costs and make a revival more risky.
SOCOM was easily the best franchise on PlayStation, it is sad what has happened to it. I do however have a bad taste in my mouth after SOCOM 4 coming out then PSN immediately hacked and offline for a month... Still to this day I do not trust Sony with my credit card information.
They did that with move on ps3, it was absolutely horrible. Then again all of socom 4 was a train wreck.
meh, would never hurt to give options. Move on PS3 was absolutely horrible because the camera sucked real bad. Fairpoint accuracy with the Aim Controller is picked up quite well.
No thanks, SOCOM 4 with move was the worst thing ever. The game was bad and that thing made it even worse.
SOCOM Confrontation was decent though.
Wasn't made by zipper it was a glitch mess and people hated on it until people didn't know what they had until it was gone. Then we got SOCOM 4. :(
Socom Confrontation was GREAT 6 months after the release of the game. Also, once they added the stupid Tilly that was when I quit. I tend to not complain about guns but the Tilly was a sniper rifle/shotgun. That gun was more broken than the IW-80 in Socom 2.
Confrontation was my first socom game and I loved it dearly...I would love a remaster of that if Sony aren't that bothered
@Liqu1d
Yeah, it was awful I remember in Blizzard you will have people camping with the Tilly and rushing with the TIlly, it was soo annoying.
That is THE worst idea for a Socom type game. You can have the option of course, but no one will use it because a controller will take you down so easily.
No, it won't. Even on Socom 4, the Move guys were owning the controller guys. It's much faster. Why would you think a controller is faster?
@WeAreLegion
HAHAH I really hope you are kidding I am sure the 20 people who were using it were owning with it lol ;)
Also, On VR I don't know how many 3rd person view games there are but I think that would be weird in VR having a guy right in front of you. If you make it 1st person you would be at an unfair advantage compared to the people who aren't.
Socom is for the hardcore/competitive gamer, focus on making a great mp game first then add the bullshit for people who want it
Yeah.....no.
OT: I'd be all for it! SOCOM is still one of those franchises that a "hidden gem" feel to it!
One of my favourite games on the ps2. Socom 1/2 got a lot of playtime by me. This one, madden football and ssx3 were my first foray into online console gaming
Yes, slant six did better than them last time. Socom 4 was horrible. confrontation was the last good socom. Well after patches .
Not just normal patches. Like a year and half worth of patches. After that it was pretty good.
Lol where you there during beta it was absolutely hilarious. GOD I miss that game.....i miss MAG too
Let's all write Sony that we want Mag 2! Let's make it happen!!! Come on people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes to this. It's time look how well battlegrounds is doing. 3rd person shooters are doing a comeback and it's the only game PS4 is missing to make my dream list complete since monster Hunter already is coming and we have crash and a few other classics coming back.
I do want to agree with you but they gave the fans a HUGE middle finger with Socom 4. All they had to do was listen to fans and we would of gotten a great Socom and they would probably still be in business. Then they made a Vita game with no PvP... It was like they were on a downward spiral. They also for MAG they cut the community in half (which was small in general) because of the DLC. That alone ruined it for a lot of people. It wasn't fun paying 20 bucks or whatever it was and not be able to get into a room because you needed 126 people to join. They gave their fans a HUGE middle finger and once again it could of been Sony as well.
It actually wasn't zippers fault. It was Sony's. After the shut down of the studio, an ex zipper dev went on a forum and spilled the beans on what happened. I wish I would've archived it.
Which I assumed, I do know that a lot of Zipper employees left Zipper before and that is just a sign. I think they just wanted to promote the Move with a franchise that's known. I am still not crazy about Zipper with the mess that was MAG (Which I loved but the DLC ruined the game) and of course Socom 3.
Was it this?
https://gamerant.com/socom-...
@All above in regards to the link
♦ ♦ ♦ "If you think SONY is going to listen to the SOCOM community who has already given SONY quite a bit of money, you are mistaken. SONY has moved on (Notice Zipper is gone). They no longer wish to compete with CoD, since CoD already helps sell PS3 units. Look at Hockey, 989 Sports used to make Hockey games, but they stopped, why? They could not touch the competition, so no longer wished to try" ♦ ♦ ♦
LOL This explains a lot. Now I know why any Sony competitive shooter post '09 have sucked (I already knew that Sony was responsible for KZ3 being worse than KZ2, but I didn't know it extended to ALL competitive shooters); Sony keeps insisting that the games be more like CoD. Obviously at the time CoD was at the top of the gaming world and couldn't do anything wrong among competitive shooter fans, so it's understandable why they wanted their studios to adopt some of the CoD elements.
But it's all about just having a nice alternative to what's already out there. KZ2 felt like a game that GG wanted to make. KZ3 on the other hand felt like a game that wanted a piece of the CoD pie. Seems like with SOCOM the Devs just weren't passionate about 4 because Sony wanted the game to appeal to a wider audience and include aspects that are inline with "current multiplayer trends."
All Sony has to do is just let the devs have their vision for the online multiplayer.
When they did that the games were good: KZ2, UC2, Resistance 2, MAG etc.
When they didn't they took a major hit: KZ3, UC3, Resistance3, SOCOM4, etc.
You need a competent developer to handle it. Low ammo, coordinated strikes, ambushes and tense online matches comparable only to Rainbow Six 3 back in the day.
Agreed the only way I see this working is with a very powerful multiplayer Team the multiplayer concept is always very difficult to get done correctly
while we're at it with these articles someone needs to make a The Getaway one lol
Would love to see socom come back. Who would develop it? Of sony studios only sony bend would make sense. They have a syphon filter and resistance retribution background. There obviously making days gone tho.
It would be fun to load up a remastered fishook as a terrorist and start lobbing grenades over that dam wall.
Or snipe someone's ass in desert GLORY. Or set a claymore at the top of the steps and wait for a seal..
Good times.
I remember the all nighters I pulled on SOCOM. Great way to spend a summer. I miss those games, it's long past due
Man I miss the SOCRACK ps2 days... Socom never really hit it off after that, Confrontation was a step in the right direction but then 4 came out and basically put Socom out to pasture...
The designer of the first few Socoms is the guy doing FAR POINT of Impulse gear, Seth Luisi. He also helped with the AIM controller.
He is working mostly with VR now.
But yeah Socom is missed. They sure had a fan following for sure..
I went to the SOCOM 3 release party in San Fransico and it was bad ass..
They had soldiers repelling down sky scrapers and a humvee chase with shoot out (blanks) between the seals and terrorists, it was quite the fan fare show and an epic time.
But to do another Socom at this point with a super saturation of shooters, I just don't know if it would work out like it once did back on ps2.. It never lived up to it's name on the PS3..
They did try though, but it just didn't grab you or give you that SOCRACK feeling again or at least not for me.
Seth Luisi was the reason why Socom went downhill. Even in H-hour that one of the hostages was going to be a lookalike of him. He BS the whole community with his lies .Just seeing his name pisses me off.
This. Seth Luisi was a turd. That dude was a big factor in all the new directions to appeal to a wider audience.
Got a lot of hate for that dude.
Need a SOCOM 2 HD Remake. With voice commands and full online functions. They could borrow the proximity chat from Confrontation leave the rest as it was. Fix the glitch areas and we are good to go.
Nah SOCOM wasn't very good...in fact it was REALLY bad...bring back Syphon Filter instead
Did Syphon Filter even have PvP? I don't think it even did so you can't even compare the two. Also, Socom 1 and 2 SP were great, it reminded me of Goldeneye on the 64 SP.
They're made by a different developer so I'm not really sure why would be an either-or...
I mean both concepts are completely different so I'm not even sure why you think one would exist over the other as opposed to both lol
What on Earth is it with this website with these one-track Minds?
This seems to be the most popular concept on this website that always seems to narrow-mindedly assumed one must be made over the other in some of you guys literally never factored BOTH existing 😂😂😂 WTF?
Socom was my teen years in a nutshell when it comes to games. I honestly would be content with a socom 2 remaster. Just tweek a couple things but leave the movement, lean, and fps/ tps mechanic in. Do what they did for crash with Socom and I would be happy.
Been waiting so long for a proper Socom game. I'll take a good imitation at this point..
Am surprised Sony has not made a new one for PS4 so far. I know zipper interactive is no more. But am sure they could of gave it to someone else.
SOCOM, Warkhawk, MAG. There are many MP games Sony could revive for those that love MP games.
I remember socom and my mate laughing at me all time as I'd be issuing orders down the mic I got with it. The game could never bloody understand what I were saying, lmfao was soooooo funny I'd be shouting orders while insulting out of rage..
Now that's a memory..
Funny enough I don't have my ps2 anymore, but crazy thing is I kept the box you put on back and the network disc to connect online lol lol..
Give us a Socom like Confrontation.
The game was great when Cold Front released, but prior to the PS3 firmware being hacked, leading to ungodly amounts of cheats(hope all those cheaters are rotting in the ground btw)
Give us a campaign similar to socom 1-Combined Assault, give us 8v8 only with smaller teams as an option, map sizes from Socom 2 were perfect. I wouldn't mind 16v16 maps but I'd rather they focus on 8v8 for the core experience.
Give us several new maps and release map packs of socom 1, socom 2, socom confrontation, and a few maps from 3/combined assault. Each of those classic map packs could also have 2 new maps. I would have no problem shelling out the most I ever have for these maps to be included from the get go.
No vr or move support unless some MS devs want to volunteer for free to provide that for the offline campaign
Bring back MAG! That was such a great game when you got the right group of people on your team. Any SOCOM game would be welcome as well. :)
Not even the same...mag can be fun but the control, mechanics, sound, and gun variety were generic as hell
Don't ever see it happening. The shooter market is already very saturated, why would they want to compete with that?
Doubt it will happen, it is one of many IPs they own that have been tossed aside and probably never to be visited again.
Just give me a PS4 remaster of Socom 2 and 3 with Pro support and online Co-op/Competitive matches. Let bluepoint studios make it.
I have yet to experience a MP game that had me hooked like Socom. I really wish they make a new one in the same vain as Socom I, II, or III.
Also while you're at it, a remaster of Warhawk will be appreciated.
Not the first time adding a female. If anyone has ever played Socom II, there was Feral who was like Demi Moore.
I don't like Seth Luisi, thanks to the history of Socom Confrontation, not to mention Slant Six.
Zipper should replace Seth by another guy and kick out Seth like this:
http://www.threadbombing.co...
Seth likes to think he is Mr SOCOM. In reality he has taken the best shooter on PS2 and ruined it time after time, im sure socom4 will be just as bad.
FUCK YOU SETH LUISI....After the DISASTER that was SOCOM: Confrontation you should have been fired!!!!!
I was the biggest SOCOM fan even and you RUINED IT for everyone..LOOK AT THE TOTAL FLOP that S:C was lol.
I hope you go bankrupt (for the 2nd time LOL)
douche
OH and slant 6? LOL LMFAO don't get me started...
geee...let's see...who can we get to royally screw up the SOCOM franchise forever...lets go with some PSP indie developer from Vancouver...yeah sounds like a great idea guys...
MORONS
