The Pilotwings series has previously spawned a duo of titles, Pilotwings and Pilotwings 64, each released to coincide with the launch of the SNES and Nintendo 64 respectively to demonstrate the true prowess of each console. Now, after a fifteen year hiatus, the series is back with Pilotwings Resort and is set to star amidst the launch line-up for the anticipated arrival of the Nintendo 3DS handheld.
Some game endings are good. Most are bad. And a few just sail out of the blue. One example of an unexpected game ending is the conclusion of Pilotwings for the SNES.
Tynan Muddle at Aussie-Gamer.com writes: "Co-founder of development studio Monster Games and programmer for Nintendo’s PilotWings Resort on Nintendo 3DS David Pollatsek has passed away at the age of 38."
Pollatsek co-founded United States based development studio Monster Games in 1996 which went onto working on Wii titles such as ExciteTruck and ExciteBike: World Rally. The studio was hired as an international partner in the development of PilotWings Resort, a launch title for Nintendo 3DS. One of Pollatsek’s hobbies included flying airplanes."
