Sony’s Playstation Move Rifle Literally Changes the Game - Technologizer

Technologizer: With 3D glasses around my head and a big, plastic, fake assault rifle in my hand, I did something that seasoned gamers might consider sacrilege: I played Killzone 3.

The sharpshooter definitely looks cool. I hope future games support the feature to use Move, including COD and Resistance.

Love the reloading feature where you bump the bottom as if you are putting in a clip. Much better than twisting the Move like you have to do in Killzone 3, which I always thought was a little gimmicky. GG/SP did a good job with that little aspect. Actually, I think that's the coolest feature.

zootang5280d ago (Edited 5280d ago )

I could see the COD casuals going mad for this.

@Below
I would kill for Silent Scope!

darthv725280d ago (Edited 5280d ago )

I can see a rebirth of those types of games like Area 51, Virtua Cop, Time Crisis, and many more coming to PS3.

You figure, if you are going to make such an elaborate accessory you may as well go all out and make it relevant. Id like to be gunning in those games again. Sega, Namco, Atari....get to work.

edit: silent scope...YES. Maybe even a new more graphic house of the dead. They dont all have to be rail shooters but those are the ones I have the fondest memories in the arcade.

Cajun Chicken5280d ago

@darthv72

I would love that. and I've always wanted to play FPS with a handled model gun. Makes me wonder why Namco aren't making Point Blank with user generated content like LBP.

SillySundae5280d ago

The author is JARED NEWMAN!

gta28005280d ago

I think if they ever implement Move controls into shooters they should somehow keep everyone separated to keep it even. Move players and controller players would be an uneven match. I would like to try games like K3 with the Move though.

NewMonday5280d ago

Big tip, shoot from the hip when using Move

Scary695280d ago

All I see is blah blah blah, I want to see a video with someone using the rifle now just words.

Kleptic5280d ago

I get that this is an article from a site that isn't just gaming...so the writers are probably purposely more vague...

but...all this said to me was: playing killzone 3 with a completely different controller, and completely different mechanics...did in fact...make the game...different...

and its worth pointing out...GG already confirmed that using the move (and/or this controller with it) can be customized nearly completely...you can turn off ALL auto-aim functionality and have a true 1:1 aiming situation...

its how you pan that everyone wants to see in action...and will pretty much make it or break it for most...they have described it numerous times (aiming off screen i guess)...but we want to see the acceleration of screen panning and stuff to see if its going to work...

@ Alpha You seem like a gamer I'd like to whoop up on in...something. Plus, the Dexter avatar is always a win. PSN/XBL: SuMizzle

PinkFunk5280d ago

It does look flipping cool. Ive given at least 10 hours of MAG time with the Move and learned to really dig it. It took me a good few hours to get used to it but it gets really intuitive.

I don't really like this article. I understand it's a personal opinion, but the author blatantly says he only played with it for a very brief amount of time. Apparently most of it was spent in cover, too. I don't know, i'd rather a journalist take some time to properly assess anything, rather than all these "Previews" that seem to accompany every Review. Ah well.

where is that reloading feature? in which game? I don't follow lol

shadow27975280d ago

@fooltheman
It's a feature built into the peripheral.

fooltheman5280d ago (Edited 5280d ago )

aha...So in killzone 3? ^^
thanks for answering btw

I understand now..I watched the vid of the gun...
yeah indeed... it way cooler...
It's more than just a plastic gun...

@ Alpha-Male22 Hmmmm..... maybe. Not a big fan of these add on parts but this one might be worth a shot. I'll think about it.

NicSage5280d ago

I wanna play KZ3 this way, casual or not I wanna shoot people in the face ;)

Apone5279d ago

Me to, i wanna shoot people in the but ;)

MsmackyM5280d ago

They sharp shooter looks really cool, I wouldn't mind using it for a rail shooter like Dead Space Extraction, but for KZ3 I like my Move naked.

fooltheman5280d ago

..Well you can turn the auto-aim off...
no-one told him that...
that would make it less arcadey

piroh212d ago

There's too many games to choose from

No Metal geat solid 1,2,3,4?
No Resident evil?
No Silent hill?
No Midnight club 3?
No NfS Underground 2?
No Final Fantasy?
No Burnout 3?
No Dragon quest 8?
No Days gone?
No Ace combat?
No Tekken/Soul calibur?......
just from the top of my head

PS1 era was full of great RPGs, PS2 was racing generation i would pick top 200 and even that would be just a fraction.

FinalFantasyFanatic211d ago

30 is way too low over the entire history of Playstation, I just wouldn't be able to narrow it down that much, I would pick 100 at least.

Storm23211d ago

Yeah...really odd list. I get that it is personal preference and I love most of the games listed, but my list would definitely be different. I agree though, it would be incredibly difficult to come up with just 30.

lockedongamer1211d ago (Edited 211d ago )

I only picked first-party titles. Otherwise, I agree!

EDIT: Except for Days Gone, I don't get the love for it but you do you!

Chocoburger202d ago

I didn't like Days Gone either, it doesn't deserve to be on any best of list.

PlayStation Move Controller Used to Perform Surgery on a Pig That Was 5,780 Miles Away

A group of surgeons made headlines after they managed to perform an endoscopic procedure on a pig located in Hong Kong by using PlayStation controllers. It involved the use of a PS5 DualSense controller as well as a PlayStation Move controller.

jznrpg253d ago

There is at least a few good jokes that could come from that title

Cacabunga252d ago

Yet another powerful device Sony gave up supporting. KZ3 move was one of the best motion controller implementation ever

just_looken252d ago

Right the ps move was awesome i have the gun thing from killzone still.

Relientk77253d ago

That's really cool. It's crazy something like that is possible with gaming controllers 1000's of miles away.

Lexreborn2253d ago

Guess that submarine should’ve used move controllers instead of logitech

Up there with the top tier in the industry. Love Guerrilla Games - Horizon Burning Shores is simply STUNNING.

1Victor778d ago

Can’t wait for their next franchise

SullysCigar778d ago

Same. They nailed it with Horizon. The trouble is I also want a new Killzone! Can't I just have it all?!

jznrpg777d ago

I’m with you I want Horizon 3 , Killzone and new IPs

badz149777d ago

I have yet to play Burning Shores as I just started Forbidden West (bought at launch, just unwrapped last weekend LOL) and playing on PS5.

man...I still can't believe the graphics especially now I'm playing it on my LG OLED. that graphics and with stable performance backing it up, GG really is the master of their craft!

Vengeance1138778d ago

32.7M sales in the Horizon franchise! With 8.4M coming from Forbidden West alone! Truly a hugely successful game and franchise as a whole. Looking forward to Horizon III

Shane Kim778d ago

That's kind of a huge drop though. It's only been two games.

VersusDMC778d ago

One year after realease HZD sold 7.6 million.

https://www.noobfeed.com/ne...

So not a drop off.

Unless you're saying a HFW should have sold as much now as HZD sold in 5 years?

Vengeance1138778d ago

It's been 3 games, this includes Call of the Mountain. Also no, its a great improvement over HZD.

solideagle778d ago

lol you are comparing:

HZD: 28 February 2017 - May 2023 (6 years+)

HFW: 18 February 2022 - May 2023 (1 year+)

We will see if it surpass original number.

Phoenix76777d ago

@shane, 2 full main games, 2 DLC add ons, 1 VR spin off game, oh and a an official LEGO set.
Not too bad for an ip that's only been on market for 6 years

REDGUM777d ago

Wow, very impressive. I didn't know the numbers were so high for Forbidden West. Still playing through it myself

thesoftware730778d ago (Edited 778d ago )

Yooo, when I first saw that Killzone 1 footage at E3, my friends my brothers and I were like, Holy shit! When it came out, it didn't look exactly like it, but we sunk so many hours into 1 & 2.

I even liked Killzone: SF, it was a spectacle to look at, and even today it looks good. I hope they make a new one. Can you imagine how that will look, and they can get some modern FPS pointers from Bungie.

blacktiger777d ago

thank you fps lover, I'm with you

talocaca778d ago

Such a wonderful studio. They deserve all their success.

The Decima Engine is absolute 🔥 I'm just mad they have abandoned Killzone.

OzzY-waZZy778d ago (Edited 778d ago )

Kinda wish they move on from Horizon tbh.

lukasmain777d ago

They are probably working on mutiple projects. One of them is Horizon 3, but another is a multiplaer game and probably somehting else.

Imalwaysright777d ago

There were rumours that they were working on a Socom reboot.
