Tales Games Getting Localized Or Not? Summary Of Rumors From The Web

It's pretty much evident that a lot of the people in the Tales fandom have already lost faith in ever getting a new Tales game localized these days, yet fans still find that little trickle of hope whenever some online sources hint at localizations. This is basically a list of all the localization rumors that have been floating around the net. It's your call whether to believe any of them or not.

I would ignore these websites because Namco-Bandai has already stated that these games are exclusive in Japan only. The Tales games are niche type of games meaning that only a handful of buyers will be interested. These games would be a waste of money to get it localised with English voice actors and translators.

I ask Namco-Bandai UK pr head about this in October and he say he didn't know if it would happen. I'm hoping it does even a US release do me as I'll import it

GigaGaia4867d ago

Namco haven't even said anything specific. They keep saying No Plans. However, No Plans could always changes eventually.

imoutofthecontest4867d ago

They also said "no plans" 2 mere days before announcing Eternal Sonata for English release, complete with lots of English screens and voice clips! LOL, seriously, they're not going to announce anything until THEY'RE ready and that's that. Until the very minute they plan, it will always be "no plans." ;)

.
"No Plans" could be "Eventually".

"These games would be a waste of money to get it localised with English voice actors and translators."

That would be true, if not because other companies do EXACTLY that and DON'T EVEN LOSE MONEY.

In fact, they make a profit.

So, yeah.

Tales of Vesperia is also like 95% finished already since, you know, they have most of the voice acting and text translated. I can't see how filling in the gap from the 360 version can be that costly. F!@#$%^ morons, I'm glad that I'm boycotting this crappy company until they release a Tales of game on PS3.

i'm 42 hours into tales of vesperia PS3 , and they changed many things even in the dialogs were patty is not present , there is usually more lines in some scenes not to mention the extra events ( with patty and flynn ).
Sure it's overall the same story but SO many changes . i for once have trouble looking at the other version now.

More events for everyone in fact ( even before the ghost ship since patty join playable at this point )

And don't get me started on the skits...

i now understand why the actors redid everything instead of just adding the new lines over ( in japan ).
There is just too much changed ... and sadly the same thing would have to be done if they want to dub it in english

Stealth20k4867d ago (Edited 4867d ago )

There japanese games sell 10 times better than there western ones

Hell each ps3 tales have more than tripled the sales of enslaved even just in japan alone

They should only be localizing

Tales Of Graces Ƒ Retro Review – Holding Out For a Hero

Gary Green said: Namco Bandai heard the call of many fans asking for the PlayStation release of Tales of Graces which was originally released seemingly exclusively for the Wii back in 2009. If you’re acquainted with the Tales series then Graces f won’t be something entirely new to you, yet if you’re a newcomer then you’ll find a plethora of gameplay mechanics and nuances that distinguish this series from other JRPGs. While the game finds itself following the traditional archetype of JRPGs, such as a somewhat clichéd story, Graces has something to offer to both veterans and newcomers alike.

The Tales Of series are some of the best RPGs I've ever played, and the characters are a big reason for that. I don't think I played a single game in the series that I didn't enjoy. Rest in peace.

Snookies1243d ago (Edited 43d ago )

Damn, that sucks to hear... His designs were always wonderful.

RIP, sheade some great designs, man it's one after the other this year

FinalFantasyFanatic42d ago

We're 3 months into the year and I feel like we're taking nothing but L's.

autobotdan43d ago

Wow she was the character designer for Tales of Destiny one of my favorites of all time =(

scorpio_204943d ago

I love the Tales games. Phantasia will always be my favorite. Ironically I felt like as the series progressed the character design became too “anime cliche.”

Did Tales of Xillia Write a Smarter Thanos?

There's a surprising amount of overlap between Marvel's Mad Titan and a lesser-known Tales villains -- but which is the better baddie?
