Industry icon and Junction Point Studios founder Warren Spector isn't beating himself up over the mixed reviews of his latest game, Disney Epic Mickey.
The Wii-exclusive title launched November 30 and is garnering a 76 on Metacritic, with the highest score reaching 90, and the lowest 40.
"I've never worked on a game that's polarized people like this," he said in a recent interview with MTV's Clutch blog. "Literally, we've got a half dozen perfect scores and I've also gotten the lowest scores I've ever gotten on any game I've ever worked on. In a weird sort of way, I think that's kind of cool."
Despite Walt Disney's mixed history with video games, these games embody the magic of Disney the best.
When you think of Disney and video games, the first image that comes to your head could be a variety of things. Perhaps it's Kingdom Hearts, which remains one of the best Square Enix games due in little part to Disney’s influence.
Otherwise, it could be a classic game, since Disney has been mostly absent from the gaming world lately, save for some mobile ventures. Whether it be a nostalgic adventure with classic characters or a movie tie-in that makes an impression, let’s dust off Disney’s videogame legacy and find those quality standouts.

OtherSide Entertainment has bounced back from the cancellation of System Shock 3 and Warren Spector is working on a new game.
The Game Developers Conference kicked off today as a week of virtual talks. In a live chat alongside a rebroadcast of his 2017 GDC talk, Deus Ex designer Warren Spector talked about why he wouldn’t make the game today.
