Too Human's Denis Dyack on Unreal Engine 3, TH Preview & More

While Silicon Knights found success with such games as Eternal Darkness and Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes, their recent project Too Human has been through the ringer for many reasons ever since it hit the show floor at E3 2006. From controversies ranging from the game getting shown to early, to Epic being at fault due to the Unreal Engine 3, to editors writing game previews too early, Silicon Knights President Denis Dyack has been quite outspoken about anything pertaining to Too Human.

I can't wait to see it next month...hopefully the public will get a taste. I was really surprised that they are pushing for a 1Q 08 release.
My hopes are really high for this game.

Legionaire20056133d ago

during BioShock it would blow the water out of Bioshock!!!! from storyline to gameplay!!! Silicon Knights has a great track record for good games in the past. Nuff said.

MK_Red6133d ago (Edited 6133d ago )

Slow down Legionaire2005.
I know Silicon Knights is one of the best teams but so is (Ex)Irrational. BioShock makers have made enough classics from System Shock 2 to Theif to be considered legendary and while I love both BioShock and TH, BioShock would have slaughtered TH if they were out at the same time unless SK puts some serious effort into making TH better than what we've seen so far.
The good news is that they are totally capable of doing so and making TH a true classc.

I don't know. I tend to be very critical of average games but this looks bad. This is a below average game. They have been making this game forever. M$ must be crazy for buying SN. I hope I'm wrong, but who needs a God of War rip off.

dachiefsman6133d ago (Edited 6133d ago )

exactly are you basing your opinion of Too Human? a trailer? a demo?

Oh wait your basing your opinion fanboy hard-on for Sony. There hasn't been but a trailer update for this game about 2-3 months ago besides that no one has seen the new build. I am sure you didn't even read the article other wise you would have figured that out.

BLACKJACK VII6133d ago (Edited 6133d ago )

The multiplayer co-op for the game is going to be sick. I hope SK takes there time & gets it right. Plenty of software out there for the 360 for months, just get it right SK.

Legionaire2005 is right, SK has come through in the past & this one's their baby. The story does look great.

Fun fact: I'm one of five people to have completed Too Human and actually liked it. It should be noted that the other four ended up in mental institutions....sadly.

excaliburps1459d ago

I completed it and kinda liked it. Controls were iffy but overall, I dug it. Shame Dyack was crazy. xD

IanTH1459d ago

Glad to hear it! So, when did you get out of the institution?

Marquinho1458d ago

Too Human was "The Order: 1886" of the 360.

Nitrowolf21459d ago (Edited 1459d ago )

I have never played this, mostly because I didn't own an Xbox prior to a few months ago Def. will check this out

darthv721459d ago

It certainly has a cool story and its a good game. it was just marred by long development time and kind of egotistical creator.

Looper1459d ago

Hey!! I was told survivors had all signed an NDA! I'm telling!

Kribwalker1459d ago

i really liked this one too. Always wished for a sequel, but sadly i don’t see it in the cards

excaliburps1459d ago

Yeah, it had a solid story and game mechanics. I remember the controls weren't smartly implemented, and every time you respawned, the animation was so long.

Fantangoooo1459d ago

I can't count the number of times I finished this game gridding for gear. Weird control but I liked it

Neonridr1459d ago

sounds very Polybius to me..

Poopmist1459d ago

Me and my friend beat it so many times. I got the best armor mathematically possible in it. Great game imo but their needed to be more tutorials on how runes work. The one that spawns singularities upon hitting someone was cash.

DerfDerf1459d ago

I actually really enjoyed it.

RamRod881459d ago

I beat it too. The controls were weird, but once I got use to them it was okay. I found the story to be actually half decent. Too bad there wasn't a sequel because I really believe if they have fixed the issues the first game had(controls, camera, etc), it could have been a great series.

HyperMoused1459d ago

I though it was great too, yay us

Anomander1459d ago

Beat it as well. it had a good story line. Overall it was decent.

glennhkboy1459d ago

I remember that I played the 1st stage. The control was so bad that I couldn't force myself to continue.

morganfell1459d ago

Fun fact...you're actually one of six :) That game was the reason I kept an Xbox 360 running until they released the very last B/C titles and it was among them.

Chronicle7801458d ago

I thought the game was ok, clunky but ok. Every time I go back to play it though it takes 20 minutes for the controls to 'click' again. Pity most of the advanced combos and controls aren't listed anywhere in the game.

Phoenix Down 87.0 – Too Human

Denis Dyack would disapprove.

darthv721707d ago

I liked this game. It has it's flaws but the story and mechanics are pretty good. It still holds up today.

Kribwalker1707d ago

i really enjoyed it when it came out.

It was free recently on xbox through BC. Id love to see this revived but sadly i think the legal issues would stop that
