Gamescom is just around the corner, and many people felt that Sony’s E3 2010 Conference lacked a few key unveilings. Hopefully Sony can bring the heat this time around at Gamescom just like they did last year with the official unveiling of the Slim model PS3...

The truth is Sony is still the leader in core gaming. Everyone looks up to them to lead gaming into the future. That is the truth.

This is why everyone expects alot from Sony. They are after all has made gaming what is today. They are the only console holder to sell 100 million units back to back and have pushed gaming into mainstream.

Nintendo and MS are like the handicapped kids that everyone claps and applaud when they do one thing right and are excused if they don't preform.

Sony are not afforded the same which is good as it keeps them pushing further.

I would like to see Resistance 3, more from KZ3 and Infamous 2, the Agent or Agency, Last guardian, some more stuff that will be offered to PSN+ members, and some Move games. Other than that I'm already very happy with sony and PS3 just keeps getting better.

Have a psp quite like it and the games are OK, bit fiddly and all of them really miss the second stick, but the possibilities of a new one with 2 sticks would mean watch out DS.

Sounds good but it wont matter how much more powerful the PSP2 will be over the 3DS,they still don't have a chance of passing NINTENDO in the handheld market.NINTENDO has that in a deathgrip that they wont let go and SONY will be like SEGA and the GAMEGEAR,ATARI LYNX,and the others.I love my PSP 3000 and my DS LITE BUT closing the gap on XBOX LIVE is more doable than the one with NINTENDO HANDHELDS.

4 shoulder buttons would be great, but thats not a good position for them in that picture. example. say u go to hit r2, u most likely end up holding r1 at the same time because they are right next to each other. the best way is to have one on top, one on bottom like the actual controller, just a bit hard to accomplish with a handheld, as it would make the device thicker.

have a compartment with the L2 and R2 buttons located just inside of the L1 and R1 buttons, so that when you activate the psp2 the compartments containing both the L2 and R2 buttons will spring out underneath the L1 and R1 buttons respectively. Then it is just a matter of pushing them back and locking/clicking them back into the compartment(s) when someone is finished playing the psp2.

Don't see how R2 and L2 buttons would work on a PSP unless they were raised, which would then effect overall design.

We won't see The Last Guardian at GamesCom. It will be at TGS along with FFXIII Versus, Zone of the Enders 3, and Demon's Souls 2. Both events are packed with new games but we won't see The Last Guardian until TGS. I'm guessing of course lol..

just give me Demons Souls 2 which includes no sl limit betting arena up 3x3 players and i'm a happy camper for next few years (although i'm a bit skeptic about arena, as much as i would like to be able to fight higher levels, i suspect it would completely take away the suspense unless invading and coop get even more integral part in the main campaign as more or less necesity). i'm playing DS 98% of my game time since asian release and i can't get fed up.

except for Last Guardian and Ico collection i don't even care which games are coming in next batch. even now i just buy/quick finish/leave all the rest interesting games.

They don't really "need" to do anything. They've shown some of their arsenal and will continue to rollout a couple of surprises along the way (like every year). More Move. More 3D. More GT5. More of a great console with great games to play.

Right. We will not see R3 at Cologne as I think they're unveiling their next game on G4TV(or another one) in early Sept. TGS will see TLG announcements AND see any PSP2 announcements as well as Japan is where it REALLY matters. XGC isn't worth an announcement and really only matters to anyone as the 360 has it and PSN doesn't-personally, I despise the feature for a variety of reasons AND it wopuld be far less well used than anyone seems to imagine. Even n the headset heavy 360 it isn't omnipresent you know.

Which leaves me thinking the only likely thing from this list at Cologne will be KZ3 MP.

I'd like to see MediEvil(esp if it's a PS3 game), SF5(it IS being made according to many good sources we know)and a few more games flitting in and out ofd the radar of late. Best of all would be a total shock or two but sites tend, I feel, not to think about WHERE shows are beforew writing their lists and this one would be better aimed at TGS, imho. Sony will have something for us, mainly more Move, boringly as we've seen ALL that it seems, but more besides. Just don't expect many mindblowers and more updates than reveals.

Insomniac said that they would announce the game between August 1 - September 1. What your thinking about is this: in Insomniac's newsletter they said that the Game would be playable at PAX and they would have a panel for the game.

I'm willing to bet anything that Insomniac will announce Resistance 3 before September.

Im trying to see what has x360 done besides release halo every year? They released Gears 2 and what else? gears one is multiplat by the way and fable 2 is the only exclusive fable for the x360. they have really no true exclusives and they are all just shooters and low quality games.

is not a console!! MS isn't competing against it. No one tracks gaming pc riggs sales for this reason. Sales don't mean quality at all same goes for critical success. But when it comes to making money who wouldn't sell something that makes money?

yea ps3 does have local MP but not in comparision to 360 games of similar note!! gears splitscreen UC none. forza and gt5 both have splitscreen but forza also has ai cars too gt none. People hate on halo yet you can play 4player splitscreen bring 3 friends online with you has way bigger levels than kz or RE1/2.

KZ looks better than halo no doubt but it lost all local features. RE has local MP but it doesn't look as good as halo and the levels arent as big

I'm not sure Gamescom is the place for them to announce the PSP2. If it is to be announced this year I think it would be at TGS and if not at TGS, it's be an E3 announcement.

Besides that I'm just not that sure a PSP2 announcement is as imminent as the Gaming Press would have us believe, well some of them anyway.

I don't think they'll announce one this year but I won't be at all disappointed if they do. Well I might, all depends on what the eventual PSP2 is capable of in terms of both gaming and non gaming features.

heres a list of what i want
1.New Firmare 4.0; this includes the cross game chat and then of course a new party system and a brand new xmb and in-game xmb
2.Agent; I would expect this because they havnt shown anything! Plus R* hasnt said they wont be at gamescon so theres alot of hope
3.Resistance 3; I loved Resistance 2. It was my game of the year for 2008 and i still play it to this day.
4. Resident evil Portable; If its a launch title for The PSP2 or just another awesome resident evil for the Origanal PSp they, like rockstar, havnt shown anything sense e3 09
5. PSP2; This would Probably be shown off with pricing and date at TGS but sony might do what nintendo did with E3 show what it looks like and show alot of the games that will be released with it

I looked up a list of the exhibitors (check the official GC site) and both Rockstar and TakeTwo are on that list, so they will have a presence at the show.

I think they could show Agent at SOny's conference.

I don't think Sony "NEED" to do anything other than show us unseen features/footage of their upcoming games and if they have any unannounced stuff ready, throw that in there too.

I think the onus is on Microsoft at the moment to step up to the plate and by that I mean show something other than their 3 usual big exclusives and those Kinect games that made some of us almost vomit at E3. I would dearly love MS to blow me away with something, I really would.

I think I read Nintendo pulled out of Gamescom? My guess is they showed their hand at E3 and have nothing much else new on top of that to show off. They did have a pretty strong E3 though, even if they don't have much else they just could have showed off what they do have which people would have loved anyway.
