the best Metriod out to date

...you realize that the tiny pictures coming up on your computer screen are just about the actual resolution of the finished product. I've played the series from the beginning, and I have a bit of a problem with playing a new Metroid in the same resolution as I was 20 years ago. Also, tell me how this M looks any better than the original Prime. Just sayin', this would have been amazing in 2002. But still, I guess if it's got really great gameplay, I'll still think about it. I'd have to buy a Wii for this and Skyward Sword, but until the reviews are out, no dice. I got Twilight Princess for gamecube, not because I'm cheap, but because I didn't want to look like a retard flicking my wrist every 3 seconds. And I still thought the game wasn't that good.

And before anyone calls me a graphics snob, listen up kids. I replay Super Metroid and Link To The Past almost every year. Why? Because those games are great at any resolution. It's just that these days, developers are getting lazy, and without some eye candy, it's difficult to be impressed.

Could you just spare us the BS?
Just enjoy it for what its worth, your complaints won't change sh/t.

It really pisses me off when people like you go " developers are lazy ".
There are so many factors affecting development. So unless you have any idea how Game-development works, I suggest you STFU.

@sidar

Hey друг! в принципе хорошие снимки даже есть а так правдивая картина!!

Счастливо теперь?

EvilTwin5011d ago

Wait a minute...Super Metroid and ALttP are "great at any resolution" (and do tell what higher resolution you've been playing them at, btw), but current-day stuff can't be good if it's stuck at 480p?

That makes zero sense. You're trying to make the argument that gameplay is more important than graphics...except for the present day. The gameplay either holds up, or it doesn't. That's the whole point of the Wii, anyway. Of course this doesn't look like a 360 or PS3 game. But it still looks good, and the graphics won't hinder its gameplay performance one bit.

Valay5012d ago

Some members of the press are having "doubts" about the game, but no one has said it's outright bad. I guess we'll have to see how it is for ourselves in a few weeks.

ExplosionSauce5012d ago

I like how they're leaving the first-person view as a secondary thing.
(unless I'm mistaken)

Great screenshots, it's been looking great so far, i hope it plays even better once it's released.

kasasensei5012d ago

I have Metroid primes 2 Echoes and Metroid 3.... but i do not really like them to be honest. I hope this one will be WAY better.

ChickeyCantor5012d ago

You skipped the best one, Metroid Prime.

kasasensei5011d ago

Many people said the same thing, but i was not able to find a new sealed one. And i do not want to buy the trilogy because it is just not as beautiful as the gamecube original, which is really sad.

Nioh games definitely up there at the top alongside Ninja Gaiden BLK.

LoveSpuds468d ago

There is a decent fan base for the Nioh games, but still think they are criminally overlooked and under appreciated.

I just bought the PS5 collection to replay them again with all their DLC, a sweet collection for my games shelf for sure.

Yea, those gardens haven't been plowed in over 10 years now though. Imagine if they cultivated it, let it grow again.

Starman69468d ago

Amazing what ya can do with a samurai sword lol 🤣

tehpees3468d ago

The honourable mention though.

TheSenorCheese468d ago

originally it wasn't going to be included because of their take on Samus' character. But the gameplay's actually not bad.

Vits467d ago

Honestly, I don't know if we can even blame them for that take. Nintendo's Sakamoto was credited as the writer and from what we learned later with the Retro Studios interviews for the Prime series, Nintendo apparently never saw Samus as this stoic badass that most of the west imagined her as. Going as far as describing her as "motherly".

shinoff2183468d ago

Ninja Gaiden was dope but I don't really care for alot of their games.

Well it almost killed Metroid so…

PhillyDillyDee713d ago

Yeah we all loved how you took a stoic badass and turned her into a whiny shrew. All those writers should be sacked.

Terry_B713d ago

Sometimes, I doubt that Reggie was that great for Nintendo after all.

2D Metroid Retrospective: Bring on the Remakes

VGChartz's Paul Broussard: "The early-mid 2000s saw something of a golden age for Metroid games. After an eight year hiatus, Metroid burst back onto the scene in dramatic fashion. Largely buoyed by the critical and financial success of Metroid Prime (at least, relative to other Metroid releases), Metroid saw a whopping six new titles between 2002 and 2007, as well as one rather bizarre pinball spin-off that wound up being much better than it had any right to be. Metroid had never been this popular before."

Never though the day would come where I say this but I’d be fine with having every 2D Metroid remade the way Dread plays.

INMATEofARKHAM932d ago

I just want them all in the Switch.
