Muzzle flash that totally encases the shooter and most of his surroundings. start firing an lmg and you could hide an entire platoon behind all the muzzle flash.
Assualt rifles and submachine guns that are better at sniping then the actual rifles the snipers get. I seriously had a guy stand there as I put an entire clip towards him my red dot on his body and the bullets just hit the wall behind him he turned once I started to reload and shot me with an a submg and took me out almost instantly.
Death lags.

Have you ever fired a real machine gun? I grew up on an Army base, and from my experience firing live rounds out of both Steyr HBAR, the muzzle flash is pretty big, games just don't show it enough.

The graphics are fine. So is the gameplay. The sniper stuff I do agree about, though.

The graphics suck they are all blocky and crap then the screen stretches past my borders which I have never had a problem with and I have fired a real assault rifle and it the muzzle flash does not cover the entire body and 2 feet on both sides. I will agree that it is unrealistic in most games but they took it too far here and made it unrealistic.

I havn't really had a problem with the muzzle flash. Bigger than most games but I can still play with it.

The graphics are awful, I agree. Hopefully they'll scale them up for the final release.

The freezing and lag can be sorted out with a couple of patches. It's the gameplay I am worried about. They should either do something knew, make a CoD game or make a BF game. Considering the dissapointment around MW2 and the fact BFBC2 is a really good game, I want them to make a knew CoD:MW2, but make it as good as CoD4 was.

Edit: Snipers are awful. Red dot sights are awful (I can barely see the red dot.) When combined you have no chance of getting a KD above 1.

Fact, most engagements by SOF operators use semi auto in assault rifles except when you are trying to break contact - rollback (Aussie peel), near contact such as near ambush - assault through, as an ambush element on the line, or suppressing fire. Those actually are a far minority of the situations.

Usually it's semi - single shot - with controlled pair, double taps, or failure drills (double tap center mass with a 3rd round to the head because the guy failed to go down when re-indexing). Exceptions are submachineguns that are very controllable - HK series fires from a closed bolt - and goosing the trigger yields very accurate 2-3 round burst that can be used in CQB situations where collateral damage - hostages - are a concern.

The idea that this game will allow you to experience engagements like a SOF Operator is absurd. The decade old DF BHD demo did a better job and that was a joke.

I think the graphics and gameplay look good. You can't complain about a BETA not working properly. Thats why it's called a BETA, because it's not finished yet. When the final game comes out, then you can complain about what you think is wrong.

Agree with everything here. Three biggest things are hit detection, lag, and freezes. Also, I was in the Marines for 5 years and spent time as a rifle and pistol coach. I never saw one of my shooters on the line look like the ball that gets dropped at New Years Eve in New York City.

This game copies both MW2 and BFBC2, but doesnt seem to bring anything fresh and new to the FPS genre. Its graphics arent as good as MW2 and its gameplay doesnt even come close to BFBC2, period.

That is the issue. They are chasing Modern Warfare. Instead of breaking new ground they only want to be a ripoff. If your try to chase a groundbreaking title you come off as a cheap clone. I don't care for Modern Warfare but it did break ground and sell likemad. And that is what the EA wants.

EA had a wonderful chance to be unique, really let you feel what it is like to be a precise and lethal Operator engaging targets, re-indexing then feeling that bolt clang back as you run dry...rapidly transition and firing while traversing to cover. They chose to be a poor mans MW.

I don't have to play it to know this game will be a let down. The series has been going down hill ever since the first CoD came out and made a WWII games ten times better. I loved the first few MoHs back in the day, but they haven't made a good game in years.

The article points out 2 things that I hated about BC2. In BC2 it spawns you right where everyone can see you. I've been killed countless times right when I spawn. Weapon balancing was an issue on both BC1 and BC2, and it looks like the same crap all over again. I'll be getting Black Ops. The only reason people complained about MW2 was because of the PC community and the lack of dedicated servers.

I actually went back to MW2.

Honestly, I really do like MW2. Despite its many flaws and clear departure from the jewel that is CoD4, it still has some of the best competitive and best social multiplayer this gen. Playing with friends is a lot of fun in CoD games.

As for BC2, I experience terrible lag. EA servers have been screwed up since the last update.

As for MoH, the game is just average. It doesn't have the magic of CoD4, it doesn't have the feel of Battlefield (though it tries). What you end up with is a game that tries to be two things, and it doesn't work.

I still see a little glimmer of hope, and I'll play it today to try and get used to it but I'm not that excited. I want to unlock more things though. Honestly, I'm so overwhelmed with shooters right now that MoH doesn't really stand out.

What's wrong with CoD's arcade style? It's meant to be like that and I personally enjoy it a lot. It's different from, say, Killzone, but that's preference. Some people like how Killzone feels some like how CoD feels.

seriosly the past 2 cods have been good for about 2 months, and then its just stale.
seriosly the game take f*ck-all-skill to play. unlike other games(KZ2,H3,CS) if your not getting ac-130ed or predetor missiled, noobs are going around with radar glitches, Apache helicopter guns in their hands, heartbeat sencors, thermal scopes(not so much) reloading faster than a terminator and could go on and on. oh yeah one more thing, DLF*CKINGC 6 MAPS FOR £20. But also in Halo if your not good you get screwed. The main flaw to Halo is how serious people are. They will do anything to get to level 50. And when they do get to level 50, they make a new account, buy all the DLC again, and then get back to level 50. (And repeat again and again) Even newbies who start the game at level 1 get matched up against a group of people on theri 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc account.

This "Boosting" as people call it, ruins the game completely. It stops other people from enjoying the matchmaking because of the unfairness.

I didn't particularly like COD but this looks OK.

Now that you mention it I think that was the one thing that disappointed me most. Lack of desctruction. Its there, but it almost seems tacked on as its very minimal. Its on the same engine as BFBC2 and when I shot my RPG at a second floor window I was expecting the wall to explode in carnage...nothing. It was a total letdown. I guess I am too used to BFBC2.

This game is being developed on PS3 first. Actually most games are now except for Red Dead Redemption. As far I know EA and Ubisoft are now using the PS3 as Lead platform.

Played 10 minutes and started playing another multiplayer game I never expected myself to play. Which is Killzone 2.

MOH is literally BFBC2 looks and MW2 play. Game lags, lag before you die and everything is...pretty dull and generic. When you play MOH online, you'll instantly say "Been there, done that" if you've played MW2 and BFBC2.

IMO, you're better off playing BFBC2 for now, unless the final game impresses.

I killed like nine guys in a row on my first game right from the start... one guy was leading the way, constantly spawning teammates behind him and I was behind all THOSE dudes, so I just kept spraying them as they spawned... I just wanted to tell someone :(

Otherwise it seems to be a pretty in-between/bridge title, or at least it tries to be, but isn't really successful at implementing the best aspects of either Modern Warfare 2 or Bad Company 2, so right now I don't see any reason to purchase it.

Unless by some miracle it will possess an amazing campaign reminiscent to the "vintage" MoH titles: European Assault was/IS my favorite to this day.

I'm pretty sure that's why they're calling this thing a "beta." For any of the people that played the Halo: Reach beta, the first two days were almost unplayable because of freezing and server problems.

Not only that but the MoH beta lasts almost an entire month. I'd rather they work the bugs out now and a few gamers bitch, then have the final product be released like this.

With that said I have been playing video games for over 25 years and I have participated in countless betas. I can tell, in all practicality, in a beta what the final product is going to be. Example: I played the BFBC2 beta, and was like, "Oops, I crapped my pants!" I played this and was like, "Did I leave the oven on?"

People are complaining about the graphics but you have to remember that this is a Beta, so this is not supposed to show how amazing the graphics are, but test the servers and gameplay; the most important parts of any game. Also this has been compressed into a small file, so what do you expect.

Beta is ok, nothing special, agree about snipers.

MW2 never played, played all the cod on PC, Waw was just as bad. 60fps does not look or feel correct imo. It feels more arcady.

I'm not saying any of them is perfect, And BFBC2 needs more maps, more usage of helicopters.

BF2 was a great game, and that imo hasn't been transfered onto consoles yet. We need jet action. Even vietnam was a great game for it's time and 1943 i loved.

I want that again, but on console with damage of BFBC2.

Which there are PLENTY of in the beta, the game is just the most boring, ugly ripoff I've seen. It's third rate trash in my opinion. They didn't try to do anything new. By the way, it being in BETA isn't a real excuse. The Halo: Reach and Call of Duty betas are extremely polished by the time they are out into the wild, and are true BETAS. The MoH beta feels more like pre-alpha. I mean, look at the KZ3 pre-alpha. It's practically finished-looking. That's what MoH should be like right now.

I guess it's true that nobody can compete with the real military shooters: Call of Duty, and Battlefield.

The thing about a beta these days is, the betas that are released are closer to the finished product that most people think. Sure there is time for them to change the game before the release, but the underlying game mechanics, feel and ideals will still be the same. I have played many beta tests and I can tell you changes are never so dramatic that people who did not like the beta will like the final game.
Betas are more for marketing than for making changes these days, they probably had a team set aside to polish this beta as much as possible, and they have clearly failed that. To say somebody is stupid and ignorant for not liking the beta and thus cancelling their preorder to me is silly. Personally, I just don't like the way the game plays at all, and the fact that there are all these bugs around puts me off even more, my preorder has been cancelled.

how can you say the game mechanics are exactly the same? each game out there has different game mechanics and a different feel. i thoroughly enjoyed bad company 2 when i played it (i lost interest in playing it when my friends did) and i still thoroughly enjoy mw2, sure the game has its fair share of problems, but the game mechanics and overall feel of the game is the games strong point. you cant honestly tell me that every first person shooter feels and plays the same. i just dont personally like the setup for moh, the way the game feels and core underlying mechanics of the game

The thing that annoys me the most is the 1-2 second freeze you have when you die to actually get the death animation. That and the constant freezing. I know these are issues that won't be in the final game. But these issues complimenting the disappointing feel to the gameplay tarnish the excitement I had for the game. I have gone from incredibly interested to not interested in the slightest.
