Illusion Labs' latest iPad game Foosball HD just went live on the App Store after a quick approval process. We previewed the game earlier this week at WWDC.
Focused around a multi-touch interface, the Foosball HD allows two players to compete with each other on a virtual foosball table.
Illusion Labs’ Foosball HD for the iPad was a released a while back, and now they’ve brought a pocket-sized version to the iPhone. The game features a single player mode with 3 difficulty levels and a multiplayer mode on the same iPhone. In both games to move your players and kick the ball, you touch a bar and drag it in the direction that you want to move it. By swiping on the bar, you can spin your players, although that is considered to be illegal in some foosball games. The game supports multi-touch, so you can control more than 1 bar at the same time with your fingers.
With all the pinball and air hockey games on the App Store, it would seem foosball has been getting shafted. Illusion Labs has taken this opportunity to create Foosball HD for the iPad, and we have to admit it’s quite impressive despite a few oversights.
AppAdvice: Not many iPad games are unique with most just upgraded graphics versions of iPhone games. It’s nice to see an idea that is completely redone for the iPad since foosball never worked on the iPhone because of the size constraints. Foosball HD is the third iPad game from Illusion Labs, and it tries to provide the real game table right on your iPad.
