Alpha Protocol: PC vs. Xbox 360 & PS3 - A graphics comparison

Alpha Protocol is out now for PC, Playstation 3 and of course Xbox 360. But which platform offers the best graphics? Is it the PC? The following screenshots (PC) are made with 1.280 x 1.024 pixels, the console shots are in 720p. Take a look through the link.

Meh. Looks all the same. The only way to get the exact comparison is from Eurogamer analysis and LoT. Those 2 sites takes forever to release their comparison though...

sikbeta5459d ago (Edited 5459d ago )

It's good to see comparisons and all, but... This Game is Already OUT? since when?

I didn't see Any Review of It...

booni35459d ago

because it isnt like you didnt know it was coming.

Alcon Caper5459d ago

Pretty sure PC has a twinge more deet...

HolyOrangeCows5459d ago (Edited 5459d ago )

The console versions are identical, and the PC version has higher res textures.

@4 and 4.2
Wow, you guys have lost it. Delusional people...
Hallmark, they have the same resolution and AA, I don't know what your delusional mind is picking up in the screen you posted.

need some reviews, not comparisons.

The game is out in the UK today and so far i think i've seen 2 reviews one giving it 8/10 (a score like that means i'm likely to pick it up) and one giving it 5/10 =/ obv quite a contrast

xg-ei8ht5459d ago

Poor looking game whatever the system tbh.

Chris_TC5459d ago

Yup, it looks pretty abysmal on all systems.
The only difference appears to be the contrast. Looking at the very first comparison, the two hotspots on the man's face (forehead and cheek) are blown out to white on both consoles while the PC holds the detail.

Wrathman5459d ago

well we all know before we look at this wot platform is superior and which is worst.

pc
xbox
ps3

*looks at article*

well wotAya know..IM RIGHT

Hallmark Moment5459d ago (Edited 5459d ago )

Surprisingly you have the order wrong.

Judging by the lighting, color and contrast it's:

1st 360(360 always ahead of both PC and PS3 in this screens)
2nd PS3(sometimes PC is a head PS3)
3rd PC(sometimes PS3 is ahead of PC)

Less jaggies in the 360 version.

This site always annoys me. But only because the pc versions are never compared with filters, clearly again no AA on the pc versions. Secondly, its retarded using a 5:4 res like 1280 x 1024 against 16:9 ones when everyone knows that 1280 x 720 is gonna be selectable in the game too.

Nihilism5459d ago (Edited 5459d ago )

haha, I agree, I remember 720p, it was a great resolution...when doom 3 came out.

AA and AF are also not new tech, they should learn to tick the box next to them

You can't expect much though, i'm sure they are using a 48cm CRT TV to play-test the console versions, and a P4 rig with a 15" CRT monitor, they must be with that res...

They they'll conclude:

"There was barely any difference between 720p and 1080p in our tests"

DelbertGrady5459d ago

Judging by how crappy their "articles" are I doubt they can afford a PC with a graphics card that does more than 720p and AA.

hoops5459d ago

I find when they compare PC games to consoles at ANY site they NEVER put on IQ filters. No AA. No AF. Nothing.

One of the few 7th gen game that I'll full heartedly support for a remake.
Its a very unique RPG and deserves its faults fixed the 2nd time.

TheNamelessOne315d ago

I would be so for this. Alpha Protocol is the definition of a diamond in the rough. Before being acquired by Microsoft, Obsidian presented their ideas for a sequel, multiple times, but were always shot down. Even something simple like a remaster is very unlikely.

ZeekQuattro314d ago

Still have a physical copy for my PS3. Clunky at times but I had a lot of fun with it back in the day.

Had some issues but that game was brilliant.

SheenuTheLegend440d ago

all the games in the above list are bang on. this is the only reason we need backwards compatibility and physical presense of games for the upcoming future, no matter what.

Yi-Long441d ago

Honorable mention to the excellent Driveclub, one of the best racing games of all-time and one of my favourite games ever.

melons441d ago

yes! incredible rain effects; so good to drive along in rain with your Spotify playlist blaring

Skuletor441d ago

I really wanted a MotorStorm using the same engine, Driveclub is easily one of the best looking games on PS4 and I'm surprised they didn't even give it a PS4 Pro patch.

ravens52440d ago

Yes indeed. May just install it on my PS5. You know, physical copy and all.

monkey602440d ago

I adored Driveclub and the Bike expansion. I also loved Motorstorm. Evolution shutting down was a crime

Outrun Online Arcade, Sega Rally Online Arcade, After Burner Climax... all good stuff. I keep my 360 hooked up to play these as well as the TMNT games that were also delisted.

Skuletor441d ago

Terry_B440d ago (Edited 440d ago )
