Blur: PC vs. Xbox 360 vs. Playstation 3 - Graphics Comparison

Let's check which version of Blur offers the best graphics? Is it the PC with a resolution up to 2.560 x 1.600 or is it the PS3 or Xbox 360? Check the link.

Nambassa5491d ago

these comparisons are still going on? sheesh does anyone care anymore?

frostypants5491d ago

The PC fanboys need something to brag about.

booni35491d ago

because it isnt like you didnt know it was coming.

tdrules5491d ago

the amount of PS3vs360 RDR screenshot comparisons I saw on N4G last week was ridiculous, get over yourself

Chris_TC5491d ago

They should have compared at 1080p because that's the resolution most TV sets use. The difference in 1440p is just brutal.

tdrules5491d ago

The PS3/360 versions don't do native 1080p, most of these comparisons are done via direct feed

user13375491d ago

Although its common knowledge that PC versions of any game will look better, the PC version in this comparison is running at 2560x1600, where as the console versions are 1280x720..which are then stretched to 2560x1600.....

wouldn't it make more sense to compare them all at 1280x720??

Letros5491d ago (Edited 5491d ago )

Do you compare Blu-rays to DVDs at 480p?

edit- 480p dvd and 1080p blu-ray are made up of the same substance, but theres a reason why the blu-ray looks sooooo much better on a 1080p screen, same goes for video games, yes games look this much better when played at high resolutions.

user13375491d ago (Edited 5491d ago )

There in lies the issue, its not really a comparison then is it?

You compare like for like...

a red apple to a green apple is a comparison, not a red apple to an orange.

plus no where in my statement did I mention anything about any other "comparison" other than the one being shown here. So why you decided to bring up blurays and dvd's is beyond me.

Edit: I agree with Krisq. Completely pointless in comparing pc with consoles. Its a night and day difference irrespective of what game it is.

krisq5491d ago

...that's why comparisons between PC and consoles doesn't make any sense.

fullmetal2975490d ago (Edited 5490d ago )

sorry he has a point here

champ215491d ago

Well is not fair on the PC then. Any 150usd gpu can handle 2560*1600 on most games these day.

yea yea i know its 3times higher then the current console hd standard...

toaster5491d ago (Edited 5491d ago )

HD standard.. lol And even then, a lot of console games can barely manage 720p and 30FPS without framerate hiccups.

dirthurts5491d ago

You don't compare by lowest common denominator.
You wouldn't set your PS3/360 at 480p to do a fair comparison would you? When console games run at different resolutions you don't lower the resolution of the better looking version and then compare them.
As for stretching the resolution...nearly all console games are stretched out to 1080p on my tv anyway...so what difference is this?
You compare them at their best. Sorry if that doesn't fit your reality...

Games like Blur and Split/Second have come out at a pretty bad time

Not only are those 2 similar racing games competing, but they're competing with other HUGE game releases.

viperfx5491d ago

The company would have delayed it dont you think if they thought it would be a bad business decision?

The fact is after playing the modnation demo, i made up my mind that I would be renting the split/second then Blur. I decided after all that I was actually not that keen on kart games.

Anyways the thing is people will have to choose 1 game or maybe two.

Convas5491d ago

This game was supposed to be released last November ... but guess what came out then ...

branchedout5491d ago

Oh, the joys of being a PC-owner.
And i built my PC with 700 bones. If I'da chose AMD, I could get same performance for.... 600-650.
Considering people pay 500+ for a laptop/desktop, and THEN a console, I'd say I'm averaging out quite nice.

But I skewed my price advantage up by getting a PS3. Oh, those lovely exclusives.

But there's also the curse. Once you upgrade once....
You'll want to upgrade again.

I'm eyeing you! You ATI Radeon 5850!
my Nvidia 9800GTX+ runs games amazingly.
Buut I waaaaaant ittttt.

dirthurts5491d ago

Upgrading is addicting. My favorite aspect of my pc.

nveenio5491d ago

Without a PS3, though, you're still missing out on all the fantastic exclusives.

I have both. A gaming rig and a PS3, and there's not been a game yet that I feel like I've missed out on.

Rival Schools!

LordoftheCritics469d ago

Spec Ops: The Line was super dark.

Incredible story.

SheenuTheLegend469d ago

all the games in the above list are bang on. this is the only reason we need backwards compatibility and physical presense of games for the upcoming future, no matter what.

Yi-Long469d ago

Honorable mention to the excellent Driveclub, one of the best racing games of all-time and one of my favourite games ever.

melons469d ago

yes! incredible rain effects; so good to drive along in rain with your Spotify playlist blaring

Skuletor469d ago

I really wanted a MotorStorm using the same engine, Driveclub is easily one of the best looking games on PS4 and I'm surprised they didn't even give it a PS4 Pro patch.

ravens52469d ago

Yes indeed. May just install it on my PS5. You know, physical copy and all.

monkey602469d ago

I adored Driveclub and the Bike expansion. I also loved Motorstorm. Evolution shutting down was a crime

Outrun Online Arcade, Sega Rally Online Arcade, After Burner Climax... all good stuff. I keep my 360 hooked up to play these as well as the TMNT games that were also delisted.

Skuletor469d ago

I have quite a few of these. Timed licenses suck.

Terry_B469d ago (Edited 469d ago )

wow...I have all of them except the Nintendo ones either in physical or digital version.

Also..Deadpool the Game is missing on that list.

EVERY Blur Game Ever

Whilst it’s rather disappointing that there are no new Blur games on the way, we can still look back at the series and reminisce.

Kumakai1852d ago

there was more than one? man i must have really checked out after the first one.... or my lack of interest is showing. that game was..... not great.

Skuletor1852d ago

"there was more than one?" This is exactly what I just thought too. I just remember the one on PS360 and PC. The game was fun but I didn't play it much tbh

IRetrouk1852d ago

Wanted to love this game so much, but just couldn't, it was the cars handling more than anything else, why they couldn't have kept or remade the pgr handling model is anyone's guess.

JonTheGod1852d ago

2 mobile variants and a cancelled sequel do not a franchise make.

Gunstar751852d ago

Blur was a great game. Such a shame Bizaree Creations went bust.

Azraeia1852d ago

Tbf didn't know there was more than one. But looking at the other games in this list no wonder the series died after the first major title. Racing is an awkward series to compete in imo. You can't really go down the simulation route cause games like Forza have got that covered and if you want arcade smash up style racing then just play the old NFS or Burnout.

Blurs servers were the main issue but would love to see it return.

AZRoboto2885d ago

I'll point out that these games are all from the X360/PS3 era - they've already had HD releases when they first came out. Split/Second and Blur - with the crazy vehicle physics capable today, why would we not want sequels to them?

The other games, all a matter of opinion of course, but... thank you for your ads between every single game. /s

TheDCD2885d ago

Problem with sequels is that they aren't very likely. Activision dropped Blur like a bad habit, and Disney isn't doing games anymore. So I'll happily take the originals.

Relientk772885d ago

Remember Me
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Miss_Weeboo2885d ago

Alan Wake
Lost Odyssey
Demon Souls

TheDCD2884d ago

As much as I'd kill for a Demon's Souls remake, isn't likely. We'll probably get Bloodborne 2 instead.

PhoenixUp2885d ago

Dafuq kinda title is that? These games were already released on HD consoles though...
