Just like HD in its first few years, people who can't afford it will down it, call it unnecessary, but in the end when more and more people have access to it, the insolence will be down to a few (ZOMG hd woldnt do nuffin fer wii gamez!).

I just got a new TV last year, so I'm not in the market for another for at least another year or two. So I don't know when I'll ever get to try out the 3D features, but I sure hope I get to try it out without having to wait forever and ever, because the idea of Super Stardust HD in 3D sounds like just about the most awesome thing ever. That game would be absolutely perfect for playing with 3D visuals! My father has been in the market for a new TV, actually. I'll try to convince him to get a Bravia 3D or something (will non-Sony branded sets work with the PS3's 3D capabilities???) and then I can take my PS3 over to his place and try it out! That'd be my best bet at getting to try out the 3D games anytime soon.

Don't Worry, 3DTVs will be There the Day You Want to Embrace 3D...

3D Gaming FTW!!!

that he'd be very happy with your great current you can upgrade to a new 3D one! If he's going to buy one anyway, why not buy yours, and then you can get a 3D one and put the 3D set where it would get the most use!

By the way, everyone is talking about how expensive the 'new' 3D sets are, but why not just buy an 'old' 3D set? There are many models from the past couple years, fully 3D capable, and cheap!

I own a huge Samsung set -- got it at a great deal and it supports full 3D (through a PC until the firmware update) 1080P 3D looks is flicker-free, clearer and just as impressive as even Imax3D. (just sit closer ;)

Here's a short list for you:

Feeling lost because there's no more OPEN ZONE for you to troll in?

Expressing your utter lack of ability to actually comment with cowardly, anonymous, disagreeing mouse-clicks?

Still trying to settle some old score for being identified as who and what you are?

What, exactly is in my helpful comment, complete with references, to disagree with?

Nothing...that's the same empty nothing that you must feel every single time you click that mouse in disagreement.

- Nothing you're actually capable of saying.
- Nothing you're capable of thinking.
- just what you're worth.

Please -- Continue to disagree, because each divisive click proves the point you are making yourself...That it's all you can do...and can do nothing more.

I originally had the A450 plasma but the video crapped out and it was replaced by Fry's with the newer B450. I dont really know what the difference is supposed to be. Something like a 600hz sub field or something like that.

Anyway, that is neither here nor there but my point I should have made was that the 3D glasses kit samsung 'used' to offer (SG1000?) for those sets is no longer available. I have been looking on ebay and once in a while i may come across one of the pairs of extra glasses but not the full kit.

I am not even certain if I could use any 3d glasses kit so long as it fits the 3d port on the set. I know nvidia has one (or more) and there are lots of cheaper brands as well.

Seeing as you posted such an elaborate lost of 3d capable tv's, would you know if any 3d glasses kit will work?

The faster frame rate and processing makes your Plasma great for displaying 3D.

Any set of glasses supporting the standard 3-Pin Mini-Din connector should work. The thing with 3D, is the emitter must match the glasses. While the VESA 3-pin CONNECTOR is standard, there is no standard for the IR signal sent from the connected emitter. (compatibly incompatible hardware manufacturers - gotta love em')

Here are some choices for you . . .

Set of 2 - $70 - Cheap PC Wireless Intro Pack
Standard 3-Pin Mini-Din works with PC, Samsung & all other 3D/Sync-Out TV's.

Set of 2 - $110 Standard Strength 2-LED Emitter

Set of 4 - $230 Broad Range 6 or 8-LED Emitter

The nVidia 3D glasses also work and are sleeker than less expensive choices, but more than twice the price.

If you can wait, I suggest waiting for XPands universal glasses - $125-150 a set, and work with everything!

Until the PS3 firmware update, connect your computer to display 3D by using these settings . . .

- PN42B450B1D: 1024 x [email protected]
- PN50B450B1D: 1024 x [email protected], 1360 x [email protected]

Optimum PC resolution for PN50B450B1D is 1360x768. (1024x768 signal produces a 4:3 picture with grey side Bars.

Check Page 26 for 3D setup & settings:

I'm out of comment bubbles, so please send a private message if I can be of more help -- or if you find my 6 lost bubbles lying around somewhere those work too!

Callahan.. Yes other 3D tv Brands will work.. and if anyone gets a chance go to Best buy and ask for the demo they have of the Samsung one.. INSANE.. Better than the movies in theaters.. Its worth it.. Even for the steep price..

My Dumb butt bought a 55 inch Samsung LED the same month the 3D ones came out.. and the 3D one was only 200 more.. But I found out that the 3D glasses is where they get you.. 200 to 350 a pop.. thats another 800 for a set of 4.. So waiting is smart

Microsoft_Spokesman3841d ago

I think Samsung has a deal of buying a Samsung 3D TV + Samsung 3D Blu-ray player and get 2 3D glasses + Monsters vs. Aliens 3D Blu-ray movie.

LevDog3841d ago

DONT TELL ME THAT HAHAHA.. I already regret not doing more research before buying my tv and now you tell me that haha..

Ill buy one in 1 year.. or sooner.. Anyone want my TV?

M-Easy3841d ago

A non 3DTV? What is this 1950 Vietnam? Take you're outdated crap back to hippy land, jk

kharma453841d ago

Don't forget that the 3D glasses are all proprietary too.

Samsung and Panasonic do use the same tech to a degree, Samsung did reveal that the active shutter glasses used to view its glorious, mighty, breathtaking 3D content are based on the same technology as Panasonic's, only they're reversed.

That is to say, using your Sammy 3D specs to view Panasonic's 3DTVs won't work -- unless you flip them upside down. You read that right, the two companies have opted for different implementations of the same technology, resulting in the farcical outcome that glasses will be interchangeable between their sets only if you're happy to wear them upside down.

Don't own a 3D TV and not planning on getting one anytime soon so I'll have to wait to check this out.

nycredude3841d ago

You can check it out in the stores today. After the initial getting to use to it period, the crap looks insane!!! Cloudy with a change of meatballs, when the food started to fall out of the sky I was impressed! It also seems like the colors are more vivid when watching a 3d tv. Can't wait. I won't jump on board immediately but I will soon after.

BeaArthur3841d ago

Yeah, I've seen it in Best Buy, I meant I wasn't going to be checking it out (as in playing games in 3D).
