Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment is a great example of the importance of unity between game visuals and theme. The game's plot and gameplay both trend towards the more serious side, while the visuals look like they came right out of a game aimed at kids. For whatever reason, Hijinx/Konami opted for an art style that looks like it came from Cartoon Network's Marvel Superhero Squad.

Vandal Hearts 1 and 2 was great, but the 3rd game was not that good in comparison. I'm sure even FF Tactics was inspired by Vandal Hearts, considering it came before that.

They should add Rocket Knight to that list. I don't think the revival was all that it could have been.
