The lack of a new, standalone episode in the GTA series leaves the action genre "wide open" for True Crime to rule 2010, Activision said today.
The firm will release a new True Crime game set in Hong Kong in Q4 this year - continuing the open-world, GTA-style of its predecessors.
In a clear reference to the lack of GTA iteration being planned for 2010, Activision publishing boss Mike Griffith told investors today:
"We'll be releasing a game in the $4 billion action genre, based on our True Crime franchise. The game belends intense Hollywood-stlye driving with intense martial arts combat and shoot-outs to deliver an Asian cinemja-inspired action thriller.
