Red Alert helped make the real-time strategy genre what is was on the PC. The idea of throwing huge armies at each other with subtle little strategies and extras have made a timeless classic. Surprisingly Red Alert looks pretty good on the tiny screen, there's a limited level of zoom as the camera pans down from on high and backs down to look across the terrain. The base buildings look smart, and build up in a suitably inspiring manner; close up the Russian and Allied units have a lot of detail and are well animated.
