Nice. Been waiting for an expansion with some meat to it. If its 15 hours then that's not bad but would have preferred about 25-30 if they really plan to charge $40 for it.

Saryk5247d ago

Awesome, I can't wait. Hopefully it will shed some light on continuing saga. Going to save the green backs for all of the PC games coming out.

Baka-akaB5247d ago

yeaah finally ! The bitsized quest like the warden's quest arent really up my taste and needs

Tony P5247d ago

Hope this turns out to be true. It'd be good to get a nice lengthy expansion instead of buying a bunch of short DLCs all the time.

DiffusionE5247d ago

I wouldn't exactly call a 15-hour game "lengthy" for an RPG whose main game takes more than 70-hours, even for an expansion pack which would probably cost $25 or more. If I'm gonna pay anything more than $20, I'd prefer it if it's at least somewhere between 25-35 hours worth of playtime.

Tony P5247d ago

I can sit here and complain that expansions aren't as lengthy as expansions for games of yore, but I'd rather just settle for the median "better than DLC".

DLC took me like an hour or two each to beat in DA:O. So 15 is a godsend if not ideal.

10 Expansions That Are Better Than The Main Game

NoobFeed Editor Joshua Burt writes - It is now a mainstay of gaming that post a title's release, and DLC will accompany the game. Some of the most popular games of the last fifteen years have followed this practice. But there are some DLCs that are better than others. That stands on the shoulders of their base game, and in some cases… Surpass it. These are the 10 expansions that were better than the main game.

Damn, I feel stupid when years ago I played all the dlc for fallout 3 except the pitt. My younger ass looked at it and thought it was boring without trying I believe... Well good reason to fire up the old dusty ps3!

PhillyDillyDee692d ago

Bethesda usually does great DLC. Makes sense they are on the list 3 times.

generic-user-name692d ago

Solid list, I'd add inFamous: Festival of Blood, although it was a standalone download, it still felt like an inFamous 2 expansion.

Blood and Wine might be the best ever though.

SullysCigar692d ago

I'd also add in Horizon The Frozen Wilds. As I started it, I wasn't sure I had the energy, but my God that was awesome. Some of the best weapons, enemies and missions in Horizon for sure.

Blood and Wine is always the reason these "best DLC of all time" list gets made in the first place nowadays.
Don't think CDPR can come any where near with any upcoming CP2077 DLC.

Silly Mammo692d ago

I have beaten Bloodborne but though i have the DLC I never played through it. For now I want to wait and see if it gets a Bluepoint remake.

anast692d ago

It's the best DLC in the genre. You are missing out.

SarwarRon692d ago

I double that. If you've liked Bloodborne, don't miss out The Old Hunters.

I skipped on Demons Souls remake, but Bloodborne would be day one. I love the game, but it is very, very jaggy and really needs a 60fps edition.

anast692d ago

I didn't like Blood and Wine too much, but the grandmaster gear is worth it.

The 100 Best Open-World Games

We all love open-world games, the sandbox genre alone has a ton of amazing titles. Today, we want to talk about the greatest open-world games ever created; the best of the best! Of course, there is a wide spectrum of what some people would consider a game 'open-world'. We're going to include games that offer an 'over-world' leading to sub-worlds, as long as they offer a variety of things to do within that space (you're opinion may differ). Open-world games come in many different styles, comparing Mario to GTA is damn near impossible, take this order with a grain of salt. Without further ado, the top 100 open-world games of all time!

I know making a list like this is incredibly difficult and time consuming and I commend your effort. I also realize that its opinion and lists are always contentious. The game for me that is a glaringly absent is Dark Souls.

brettnll3297d ago

Oh believe me, I thought about it! I just felt like DS didn't put much emphasis on the 'open' aspect of its world. But an argument could definitely be had!

I love Souls games!

NeoGamer2323297d ago

Dark Souls, Prototype, The Saboteur, Mercenaries 2, Batman Arkham City, Sunset Overdrive, Shadow of Mordor, Mafia II, Sleeping Dogs, one of the Deadrisings, and Red Faction Guerilla should've all made the list.

brettnll3297d ago

Arkham City, SoM, and Sleeping Dogs are on it.
