ZeroTolerance writes: The Need for Speed series has gone through many incarnations over the years. The one thing that has felt missing from a lot of these attempts to create a solid racing game is ironic due to the fact that it is part of the name. Speed is something that developers struggle with time and time again when making racing games. How do you create a sense of speed that tricks the player into feeling like they are actually travelling 200 mph down a circuit? EA went back to the drawing board with NFS: Shift. They brought in a new developer and shifted the focus from cheesy story-driven scenarios, to flat out racing. The end result is one of the most polished and well constructed racing games this generation.
EA has announced that Need for Speed Carbon, Need for Speed Undercover, Need for Speed Shift, Need for Speed Shift 2: Unleashed, and Need for Speed The Run will be removed from digital storefronts beginning today, May 31.
From a preservation standpoint, this is the one thing I hate about digital games. And things will get much worse if game streaming becomes the norm.
NFS Undercover, Carbon,Prostreets, Rivals, 2015 Reboot, Payback , 2012 Mostwanted was no good, far as I'm concerned they can remove Heat too . it doesn't matter anymore if Ea remove them they "All" crap.
Ea went down hill after Blackbox studio left.
Ghost did not improved NFS , Criterion did nothing better and here they are back to screw NFS again. 2022 will be another flop as the first title they made (Burnout for Speed)
I own some of these games does that mean I can no longer download them? Or just purchase?

Most wanted 2012 imo was awful, on PS3 the graphics are dreadful, and the crash cam was very annoying. Rival is the worst imo, hated that game. My favourite is Hot Pursuit, great game. Also Shift 1&2 are really good.
High Stakes will always be my favorite. Great cars, great music, and you could see through the windows which was pretty mind-blowing at the time. Best of all it was ricer-free.
Lame. The list doesn't even include any of the originals. NFS 1 and NFS hot Pursuit 1998. Must be a youngster who created the list.
From my personal experience NFS I personally don't like.......
The Worst : Underground 2 , Carbon, Prostreets, Undercover, Porche unleashed, Nitro, NFS World, 2012 Mostwanted, Rivals, 2015 Reboot last but not least Paycrap.
Best NFS I personally like :
All ps1 NFS : HighStakes (the best) including NFS 3 Hotpursuit , ps2 Hotpursuit 2 (Excellent game ) ..Underground ( Best so far)
2005 Mostwanted ( Excellent game) Shift 1/2 (Spectacular) remind me of GT , 2010 Hotpursuit Great game but race Waaaaaaay to long in my personal opinion . Last but not least The Run . these are my favorite NFS titles .
After The Run in my personal opinion NFS went down hill fast with Open world mapping crap, always online, multiplayer crap, alldrive, drifting in every freaking corners, no gripping anymore, autolog. None of this crapfest is NFS original formula. until Ea contract Ghost Games to return the original formula back in NFS it will always be Shitty game.
Hardcore Gamer: For the price of a pizza, you can get ProStreet, Shift 1, Shift 2, and Undercover.
the games overrated
graphics are fugly, particularly the texture and the rear view mirrors
loading takes forever
driving is fun but is too arcadey
gt5:p still looks better and plays better than this
Going to pick it up today.
I think it deserves the score. Don't know why so many people complain about the game. Sure the graphics are not on par with Forza3 or GT5, but it's really fun to drive (as it's a perfect combination between Simulation and Arcade) and the feeling of speed is phenomenal. The AI is agressive (on normal) so it's not as easy to get on first place as it was with the last NfS games. For me the best NfS games since Underground/Most Wanted. Way to go EA
I'm in the UK.. It releases tommorow!
I am waiting now. :)

LIKE HELL THEY DID. "NEED FOR SPEED" SUPPOSE to went back to its roots
