Forget Patrick Stewart in Mass Effect 2, it has to be Malcolm McDowell

Rumours have circulated of Patrick Stewart's appearance in Mass Effect 2, but it doesn't seem that he was the name intended in BioWare's twitter post about a very famous and good looking near-70-year old actor doing a voice. Evidence suggests that it might actually be none other than Malcolm McDowell and he may be playing the human antagonist of the game, the 'Illusive Man'.

Both are good actors, both were there when Kirk died. So they're both worthy IMO.

Alcon Caper5719d ago

Well remembered!

I'm thinking the next ones they'll announce will be:

Orlando Bloom
Kate Winslet
Anthony Hopkins
and Clive Owen

Xeall5719d ago (Edited 5719d ago )

if its stewart he had better live to have some lines in this game....I'm looking at you Bethesda

Ziriux5719d ago

Yea, Bethesda, def. chooses good voice actors for their games from Oblivion to Fallout 3, I was impressed by the choices.

Wonderfulwest5719d ago

well both are great actors so either will do the job to a high standard. Its win win really

A HiFi5719d ago

Absolutely. But come on...could you see Stewart as a bad guy? And to have any sort of credibility, the Illusive Man would have to be bald.

Ziriux5719d ago

This is looking to be a stellar repeat by Bioware when it comes to the quality of the story and the cast they choose for their games. The first had an amazing cast that helped the overall epic experience, it takes good voice actors to help accommodate the story of the game.

A HiFi5719d ago

Yeah, it had some of my favourite actors in general including Keith David (Arbiter in Halo, Childs in The Thing etc.), Seth Green, Lance Henriksen, Marini Sirtis and Jennifer Hale (Bastila in KOTOR) as female Shepard. And I've not even mentioned the great job that all the other voice actors did too.

Well, now I have.

Ziriux5719d ago

Seth Green has a great voice for video games, I think he was in a few others, some from Vilotin I believe.

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast149d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine149d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast149d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman149d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast149d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave397d ago (Edited 397d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
