Gamer Limit writes "With all of the build up to E3, Sony did try to sneak the downfall of The Matrix Online past us. As an avid fan of The Matrix Trilogy and a long time player of MxO myself, the news that MxO was going to be unplugged definitely served as a downer for me."
Gaming culture as a whole has always been one of the main sources of inspiration for the whole Matrix universe, and it’s only fair that, upon the franchise’s return to the big screen, gamers should get a piece of the green-tinted action too.
Considering its status as a pop culture icon that spawned half a million memes and imitators, it’s quite surprising how few Matrix games there are.
There was a Matrix game pretty damn good that I played from start to finish, I think it was the path of Neo I think that was the one. :D
I did not like the Enter the Matrix game with Ghost and Niobi, but played the heck out of Path of Neo.
Hours before the first official look at The Matrix Resurrections, Sam thinks back on past Matrix game attempts. Is it time for a new title?
Enter the matrix was an awesome game. It would be nice to have a new one but it would have to really push the boundaries of physics and animation to be any different this time around.
Feels somewhat a shame I never got into this game, as I quite like MMOs (even bad ones) would have been nice to see what the fuss was before it all went the way of the dodo.
It surely wasn't the best, but I enjoyed the Matrix MMO, simply because I loved the Matrix universe, I'm willing to put up with a bad game if i'm a fan of the name and universe.
It was indeed a dismal effort from what I've heard, but then so was Enter The Matrix.
I never got to play it either... In fact, I thought MxO disappeared a long time ago like Sims Online. But, looking from the outside in hindsight, it seems fairly obvious that the lack of listening to the people who ACTUALLY PLAY YOUR GAME was a poor choice.
Way to go, SOE! Let's take down EverQuest next!
Matrix Path of Neo wa the greatest matrix game EVER,and extreamly Fun.
