Do games get director's cut version often? Why not just release a patch or expansion? Seems money hungry to me...

Ellessdee5783d ago

being released as a patch for people who already own the game.

Perjoss5783d ago

i keep meaning to sit down and actually play this game, I bought it when it came out and just never got round to playing it much, then they announced a huge content patch with better voice acting etc so I waited a bit longer, now they are releasing another content thing to improve the game, so I might as well wait for that too before getting stuck in.

I wish they would stop announcing these big improvements to the game so I can just sit down and play it :P

The new content has already released as part of the 1.5 patch. It's five fan-made adventures.

I just started playing this game as I finally got a half decent gaming PC. I am playing the 1.5 version and I think this is a really good game. I like it alot. As far as pixelated nudity goes it's really not that exciting.

One simple question...

Why not just end up polish or finished the consoles version instead of release this kind of "extended" version instead? XD

Elven65783d ago

This is he default European version, it was censored in NA so localization is super cheap in comparison to a full on port.

J@D5783d ago

as far i concern the console version are pretty far in-development. Anyway, look like I will end up buy the PC version after all (i'm not a pc gamer thought) but alas i still hoping for a console version of this great game.

Console version is probably never coming: http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

"On the 29th of April 2009 the production of the game announced to have been halted due to late payments from CDproject to the French developers of the console version, Widescreen games.[6] A release from CDproject's CEO Michal Kicinski stated that payments were delayed due to Widescreen games not meeting development deadlines, additionally stating that "technical incapability created a risk of missing planned quality" and that they (CDproject) had ended their association with Widescreen games.[7]"

i actually really liked this game, i don't usually like medieval time stuff, as it's usually tame compared to the hard core sci fi/fantasy rpg's, but i liked the story and the combat.....and even the leveling up system

NeloRisi5783d ago

Although my computer would sometimes get choppy while playing it. BTW, CD Projekt should just spew out the console version already, it'll be a definite buy.

As a dev, I can tell you that with 5, Epic made quite a leap. It perhaps may have done *too much* of a fidelity leap that most of its target hardware (Both PC and Consoles) struggles to hit 60FPS with all the new cutting edge features they added.

It may have had some issues with this generation to find a good home, but by PS6 the engine will have matured and found a good matching partner 🙏

Now that Sweet Baby is involved in this game. I’m really concerned it’s going to turn into a woke agenda poster child. I hope not but after what happened to the tv show, I won’t be holding my breath on this one.

Demetrius302d ago (Edited 302d ago )

Folks are so mf afraid to tell the sweet baby inc weirdos NO we don't want your involvement lol

jznrpg302d ago

Hard to say. Maybe they are welcoming them?
I know I wouldn’t hire anyone from the outside to give me advice on how to do my job but we don’t know that they feel scared and they could be positive toward them. People have different beliefs and ideals and that’s ok there is 7 billion people you are going to have ideals that run the gamut.
If it was me I’d tell them to F off because I wouldn’t want to pay people to advise what I’m doing regardless of who it is unless I sought them out myself and that could be the case here who knows.
