VGC Review: Beats

VGC writes: "When Sony first launched the Playstation Store for the PSP they needed to produce titles that would prove that the portable could provide small scale and fun games for a low price. From that objective came Beats, a game that combines the two most used features on the PSP, gaming and music. For the low cost of five dollars, Beats morphs the music library stored on your memory stick into a traditional rhythm game."

Its a great game and deserves a lot more than its been given, and should definately be higher compared to some of those games listed.

Pretty damn good game. I see how this would get the top spot.

Yeah-good game that gives a decent challenge without holding your hand at all. It's funny that it should be so high in the d/l this month esp for me as I had to download it the other week as I'd nearly finished it completely and lost the UMD at Xmas-like a nob. And it seems evryone else must have got it on the strength of KZ2 that hadn't picked it up before.

I think uit's pretty underrated as well as being a really good PSP shooter-even if it's got one of the oddest perspectives I've ever seen, not really TPS or top down. I suppose it's a bit like the high angle in GTA CW on DS.

Patapon2 rocks too.

VGR: Playstation Network Collection: Power Pack (PSP) Review

VGR:

"Each game has its own strengths and weaknesses, but put together the Power Pack seems a bit lacking. Having to exit out of the game to change between them is just plain silly; although each game has their moments...the only one I remotely enjoyed was flOw for its quirkiness. Beats seems a bit dull and Syphon Filter Combat Ops gets old after a while, but flOw is the one that's unique, making it the best of the bunch. Should you get the Power Pack? Only if you've never played flOw, otherwise I'd skip it."

GamePro: The 21 Best PSP Games

Last year GamePro wrote about the 10 best PSP games in honor of the system turning two, and it ended up being one of 2007's most popular stories (apparently there are quite a few of you PSP gamers out there). But perhaps the third year's a charm because since last March there's been an influx of awesome PSP games. So now, with three years of titles in the bank, GamePro settled on 21 must-play games that are all worthy to be claimed one of the PSP's best.

I thought Patapon was terrible, but that's just me.

Great imports

Taiko Drum Master 2
DJ Max 2
Princess Crown
Tales of Eternia
Spectral vs Generation
Tales of Rebirth
Yggdra Union

agree with a few of those. Racing games are not all that for me and the Syphon Filter games on PSP are horrible and no you can't change my opinion on that. Daxter was meh and I'm rather upset that Mercury isn't on the list :(

Lol, I totally agree. The controls are my main complaint (aiming w/ face buttons? No thanks.) I also hated Lumines.
GTA:Vice City Stories was the worst GTA game ever.
PSP games I have in my library: Hot Shots Golf:Open Tee, MPO, & Field Commander.
PSP games I got rid of: Syphon Filter:Dark Mirror & GTA:vcs.
