It was a vintage year. The videogame industry shrugged off recession and put two years of directionless caution behind it last week, staging a confident showcase in Los Angeles that showed the rest of the entertainment world who was boss without overdoing the tacky excess. A ton of news (some of which hadn't even leaked), a little controversy, a lot of showmanship, some scarily futuristic new technology - and, best of all, plenty of first looks at exciting games that are actually coming out in the next six months.
This could be fun as they make great tables. Go big or go extinct. Prime your senses for a neural handshake and step into the cockpit of a Jaeger. It is on you to cancel the apocalypse when Pacific Rim Pinball comes to Pinball FX on May 16.
Gary Green said: We have a juxtaposition of 2D and 3D visuals, flashy turn-based combat, quirky anime characters with cheeky dialogue with plenty of partial nudity; Yes, this is a Compile Heart JRPG. Whilst the engine is borrowed from Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, Mugen Souls is more of a Disgaea spin-off. It’s not a strategy RPG as such, it merely sits within Disgaea’s ever-expanding universe (Multiverse? Netherverse? Your guess is as good as mine). You won’t find cameos though, since Mugen Souls is a franchise which aims to stand on its own two feet.
Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."
Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.
2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.
After their fairly annoying LiveBlog of the Sony Press Conference and their usual disdain for Sony IPs, they go and give it the best Publisher title.
Overall, I'm a bit jaded that so many are buying into Milo & Kate so early and without real public showing, but overall not horrible selections for E3 awards.
This is a much better article than the riff raff we usually have to put up with on N4G. I like it how they actually appreciated SONYs first party line-up unlike some other sites who pretended it didn't exist. Unfortunately, it probably won't make the front page because it's not controversial enough...
Game of the show, new Mario Brothers?? No.
New game announcement? Did people just totally overlook Agent, I mean it is being developed by the same team that made GTA which is a worldwide hit. FFXIV MMO is being made by the XI developers so we'll see how that turns out.
was milo this game will make ps3 owners cry to their mommys
