Anger over Left 4 Dead 2 and what we deserve in a sequel

Left 4 Dead 2 has been announced but it's not necessarily a good thing. Gameplayer takes a look at some of the shortcomings of the original Left 4 Dead and what needs to be included in the sequel for gamers to fork out their hard-earned cash.

"It wasn't so long ago that Left 4 Dead fans were getting excited about the prospect of a decent chunk of (free) DLC. Dubbed the Survival Pack, the downloadable content granted a new lease on life to the undead shooter, which was starting to get a bit stale. Don't get us wrong, we love the game and were addicted for quite a while, but it was rather limited in its multiplayer options upon release. Single-player was basically an extended training mode, cooperative play could become a frustrating affair if shared with dickhead players and Versus mode only supported two of the four campaigns. On that note, the very limited content of the campaign acted as a deterrent to replayability, despite the addictive nature of the game and the dynamic flavour added by the ever-meddling Director overlord."

It'd be nice to be able to use the axe to cut off smoker tongues.

Also more explosive weapons! A bazooka or 2 wouldn't go astray.

Personally I'd love a proper SP cam[paign with an actual story to give the MP modes(which were also lacking in variety-still are now truth be told)a little grounding in an alternate reality, to make the goals seem more worthwhile and such. And 'cos a real SP L4D would be cool, even better if you have thee choice of co-op too but a L4D experiebce fo those without the greatest connections would be amazing. Would also give making a sequel so damn quickly more of a point, imo.

Agreed dude. If it has such an emphasis on multiplayer then they might as well not have single-player. Give us a decent single-player campaign too Valve!
