Warhawk in Space May Make E3 Appearence

PlayStation LifeStyle writes, "According to his twitter account, Dylan Jobe will be submitting a "milestone" build to SCEA by Friday. No game title was specified, but the newly formed Lightbox Interactive headed by Dylan Jobe has been rumored to be working on a "Warhawk in Space". Shortly after those rumors had surfaced SCEA trademarked the name Starhawk."

I have a feeling that in space...it would be a lot like Star Wars: Battlefront. Flying in space and then landing on ships to fight. I think that would be epic. I can't wait to see what kind of spacecraft they come up with.

What if we had a base on Earth and the other base in space?? And you fly to space? As your flying towards space, you can see the whole globe!
But then again, lets not bring up our hopes to much. We might end up being disappointed.

Murka-doodle-doo! You forgot that DJ has always said "if" he did another Warhawk that he'd also give us a SP to make up for the one ditched for the original. The story of the Eucadians and Chernovans spreading into Space? Could be a cool way to link the two MP portions, no?

Whatever, Warhawk's the mutts nuts and after crafting the best online game anywhere this gen-best learning curve, best gameplay, most varied gameplay, dedicted servers maintained well, fabulous community-the list of it's attributes is endless and the fact it's still packed at this minute speaks volumes.

Warhawk was cool but I sold my copy after becoming frustrated. Warhawk has been the only PS3 game I have ever sold. I thought it was cool but by the time I got it everyone online was so advanced that I didnt have a chance in hell on learning how to play. No sooner than I was airbourne I was dead in the water.

I would love a new Warhawk but this time I hope they include a Single player mode that will allow me time to perfect and improve my skills as well as offer me an alternative gaming experience.

I prefer Single Player experiences over MP's any day of the week. I guess I'm in the minority on this but thats just how the kid rolls.

You know what would be really insane...being able to fight in space and then fly down through the earth's atmosphere and fight down there. It would have to involve a heavily-optimized streaming game engine, but I think that would be so cool if you could fly higher and higher and higher and blast out into space and then dive back down to earth and keep fighting.

You can't. Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 hold the crowns for best graphics of any console game to date.

If it is in space, it would be stupid not to include space stations. I wouldn't want to be flying around all the time. Yeah, it's not really a "ground" battle but at least you're grounded on something :p

Plus if there's a SP and the story goes into space surely it will also go to other planets and space stations which will provide more opportunity than ever for varied combat-don't worry they will nor fark this one up-no way.

At least half the players on most WH games stick to ground work/battle.

It can be frustrating if you need air cover but they can be invaluable offensive/defensively and add to the enjoyment of the game.

Starhawk will likely be a new ip which copies alot from WH but but will ultimately be different game - not a sequel.

Starhawk should be just a new IP that mimics alot of Warhawk but also has its unique features.

Warhawk deserves a proper sequel and improvements such as going fps, have a sprint & roll function & have bots with wicked good AI.

At present, Warhawk MP is as good if not better than Halo, BF:BC or CoD4 but has obvious shortcomings.

whomever needs to tweak Warhawk to become the best MP online game out there because it's so close already.

Starhawk will likely be a good game if it's anything like warhawk.

Your just asking for COD 4/Battlefield.

Warhawk is not a FPS and god forbid it never will be.

I don't want 'classes' because Warhawk is a shooter not a tactical team based action game. If you want to be an engineer then you pick up a wrench, a medic you pick up a bio-field. You don't NEED classes and they won't improve a thing.

Map editors on consoles are too complex and besides I have faith that starhawks maps will be AWSOME. Besides it takes so much in order to share maps with little if any succes. They should just release a PC maps editor and then that person can upload a map which you can transfer via USB device to starhawk. The most played map of the month will be uploaded to PSN.

New vehicles.... will just destroy any balance and I think 9 is plenty. How would motorbrikes work in space? What you need is three different types of aircraft... your heavies which move slow but have firepower... your fighter these are quick but are also week and then finaly a micro battleship, these are large ship with EXTREME firepower... they can carry upto 8 men and are and ideal invasion craft for enemy cruisers.

New game modes would be required with the setting change I'll give you that one

64 player would also be your only other good idea.

Can we not change everything about warhawk and turn it into a generic FPS... to please everyone who cannot do too well flying.

My list of improvements were for WH2 not Starhawk.

By going FPS and adding classes etc won't make WH like the others. I am a diehard WH fan with reasonable abilities and the rank of Cmd Marshal. Many times as I'm playing, I've wanted to be more involved with the game by being in First Person as well as being able to sprint and roll in combat. Did someone say Zipper switch from TPS to FPS for more involved gameplay?

After playing alot of Killzone 2, I now want vehicles, turrents and ammo boxes to be made and repaired by engineers. This will add to gameplay not detract - choose your class well else you may end up with a base with no turrents, damaged vehicles and no ammo boxes - familiar if you play KZ2 alot.

Having Land and Air vehicles and weapons fully available have made WH was it is. Just because there will be more and classes could only be a good thing so long as everything is available from the start.

Sheez, if there is a bicycle like there will be in ARMA2/OFP2? then I'd still give it a try for fun and sense of achievement.
