IGN writes: "Even though Devil Summoner 2 takes hits for being repetitive and sporting outdated visuals, I still sincerely enjoyed its setting and style. I think the feel of the game as a whole makes it worthwhile to check out, especially because the PS2's release list has all but withered away.
If you don't mind the repetitious text and the somewhat bland demon mechanics, Devil Summoner 2 can actually be a lot of fun and has the potential for some serious level-grinding, which is always a strangely rewarding element in the RPG landscape. Also, the game comes with an adorable plushie of Raidou (for the time being) and the whole package is only 40 bucks. I'd say that's a pretty reasonable deal for a game that lasts for more than 35 to 40 hours".
HD versions of Sega and Atlus' action role-playing games, Devil Summoner 1 and 2, appear to be headed to PC.
Amazing couple of games with that classic Shin Megami Tensei/Persona Art Style. The good Art Style. Heavily underrated and in need of a sequel for sure.
I would love for it to be a mixture of Souls-like mechanics (bonfires, souls left behind when dead, item description, etc.) and Dungeon/world designs, with the Yakuza style of serious main quest and humorous and goofy side quests, all wrapped in Ghostwire: Tokyo style of graphics, presentation, First Person spectacle, and Neon Soaked City.
And speaking of Ghostwire: Tokyo, where's the Maken X sequel at Atlus?
Shit, so many good stuff Atlus and Sega have left go down by the wayside in favor of some really mediocre games and what feels like infinite re-releases and remakes and...
Pity.
The digital PS3 version of Mass Effect Trilogy has dropped to $4.49. Odin Sphere, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha versus King Abaddon, Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga, Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2 and Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 are also on sale for $4.99 each.
$4.50 for the Mass Effect Trilogy?! I would jump on that if I didn't already have the game. I also own all of these Atlus titles physically, and I think I did get the digital version of Persona 4 just to support the digital release/have it on my PS3, even though I think my PS2 is still the most authentic way to play it. Granted, Golden is the definitive version IMHO with maybe one minor point in favour of the original. Perhaps I should open up a Tracy Rooney vs. Erin Fitzgerald discussion right here for my own amusement, but derailing the Internet can't be that easy, can it?
The PlayStation 2 game Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon is going to be released next week on the North American PSN as a PS2 classic
thank u Atlus for giving us all the games digitally. Scalpers online try to overcharge for the disc versions.
