I'm playing Tales of Phantasia right now

I will be playing that one after I beat Bahamut Lagoon. Another great game with a not so spectacular story but addicting battle system. Leveling and evolving the dragons is like playing Pokemon but with a much more mature/darker plot and setting.

But to all these games on the list I prefer Terranigma. That's my favorite game on the Snes. Gaia is like some kind of sequel to Terranigma but not as epic. Terranigma is the definition of epic. Chrono trigger wins the most interesting characters and story(it had a great battle system too) and the FF games were... I don't know, I didn't like those. For me FF started on the PSX. The FF on Snes were too long with really crappy graphics and very basic battle system. FFIV and VI were the only ones with great stories... Now I will stop writing.

was why I bought the SNES, it was the breaktrough of the time. Super Mario World was great too but then I got MK3 and KI. I also loved Illusion of Gaia which was my first RPG.

Super Mario World is my favorite game of all time. I could sit down with it right now and be totally into it just like I was when I was a kid.

3 games from squaresoft. If I compiled a list of my favorite rpgs dating back to my nes days ff6, chrono trigger and secret of mana would be in the top 5 for sure. sad to see the state of square-enix right now.
