IGN: Prince of Persia Epilogue Review

Prince of Persia Epilogue is very short experience with an ending that's less intriguing than that of its retail counterpart. The new additions are nice, but this is really just for fans of the first game who want a little more. This shouldn't take any seasoned POP player more than two hours to beat. And though you unlock two new skins and there are new trophies/achievements, there's really no reason to play through the Epilogue a second time. Were this a $5 download, IGN would be more inclined to recommend it, but $10 is a pretty steep price for so little added value.

Presentation - 7.5
Graphics - 8.5
Sound - 8.5
Gameplay - 9.0
Lasting Appeal - 3.0
Overall -

This is why I hatE DLC sometimes.Ubisoft and Namco are well known for incomplete games and overpriced DLC.Other developers make DLC a serious concern and make the content fair but this issue with PoP,Soul Calibur 4,and Ace Combat 6 really demonstrate the laziness of DLC.

This expansion pack is a ripoff. I already have the "exclusive" costumes that come with the Epilogue LMAO! Stupid Ubisoft. I got the two costumes when that last patch went up and I've gotta say, they look pretty lame.

I would love to actually finish Prince of Persia, but unfortuntly I won't, because I refuse to pay out for 800 Microsoft points to do so.

This should of been included in the final game when it shipped, and if it wasn't ready, they should of put it up on the marketplace for FREE!!!

800 points for 2hrs gameplay sucks ass!

Just look at other recent downloadable content released:

Fallout 3: Anchorage has 3-4 hrs worth of gameplay, new weapons, new armor, new charactors and is worth the 800 points. The Pitt coming out in April will do the same as Anchorage, and then 'Black Steel' in April will include new perks, a 30 level cap and bigger and longer missions.

GTA4: Lost and Damned - Double the price of the POP DLC, but runs around around 12-14hrs!!!! New charactors, new missions, new music plus loads more!

Tomb Raider Underworld - Same price as the POP DLC, but longer, new missions, and worth the price.

Too pay 800 points for 2 hrs of Content is a complete and utter ripoff. They should of released this for free for everyone who owns the game. The developers should be ashamed of themselves, and they can't blame Microsoft for charging for the content, and it's going to be on the PSN network as well, which they are also charging for the content!

I'll be avoiding it like the plague, and will probably just watch someone else play it on a Youtube video or something to find out the ending!

This is so effing stupid.

9.0 for gameplay yet overall it gets 7.8

Who cares if its 2 hours long. It's DLC for crying out loud

Vagrant_15524d ago

because it cost too much for what your getting period and I agree with them. I'm not paying 10 bucks for 2 hrs worth of gameplay, I can get more from $10 Psn games

DelbertGrady5523d ago

I got bored with the repetitive gameplay and tedious backtracking of the original game so I won't bother.

My money goes to Exit 2 =)

Lucreto5523d ago

I loved Prince of Persia and I did not hesitate to get the DLC.

10 Super NES Games You’ll Probably Never Beat

If you’re a gamer “of a certain age”, you may vaguely remember the moment when games went from a grueling gauntlet requiring all your skill and concentration to tackle to a casual, checkpoint-containing, cruise control-encouraging walk in the park.

I beat Jurassic Park multiple times!

Jurassic Park had no save system, so I would leave the console running while I went to school, took breaks. It's not that it's hard, it's just tedious. But I was a Jurassic Park obsessed kid (around 13 when this hit), so I would obsessively scower ever inch of the maps (both 2D and 3D) until I had them memorized.

The Star Wars trilogy, I only beat w the cheat codes.

Sounds just like me. I mapped out the indoor areas on paper, leaving the SNES on for days at a time. But I never finished the game. I collected all the raptor eggs except one. So close !

Neonridr562d ago

oh god, I remember beating JP on SNES and like you said, it was all in one shot.

I dunno about this list though, I beat all the Star Wars games and while some levels were tough, it was easy to get powerups and extra lives and stuff. Maybe set to the hardest settings it was tough. I also beat Contra 3, loved that game to death.

darthv72562d ago

with the exception of Jurassic Park and Prince of Persia, I've beaten every other one of those. It just takes practice and time. Something I had way more of when I was younger.
