VGGEN writes: "Too Human. If you are a tuned-in gamer, you probably already have an opinion on this game. Combining a lengthy development cycle over multiple systems with an outspoken project lead in addition to a lawsuit against Epic is just a PR nightmare waiting to happen. By the time Too Human hit shelves, most gamers already had an opinion on the game, and that opinion was to treat the title as a massive punch line. I tried to not get caught up in the Too Human hatred-meme, and just kept tabs on the development of the title. I prefer to form my opinion on the actual finished product of the game, not videos/demos of early builds or the meme-like cries of forum-goers and blog comments. Ultimately, I went into Too Human with something that many of my "peers" haven't done: an open mind. After playing Too Human, I found that it did more things right than wrong. This review will examine Too Human as it stands. It will look at legitimate shortcomings, elements that worked, and blatant flaws as it attempts to define and explain the game that Silicon Knights has dropped in our laps."
The action-RPG by now-defunct Silicon Knights is now free for Xbox gamers! Check out the Too Human free direct download link with armor sets here.
Fun fact: I'm one of five people to have completed Too Human and actually liked it. It should be noted that the other four ended up in mental institutions....sadly.
I liked this game. It has it's flaws but the story and mechanics are pretty good. It still holds up today.
He worked in the game industry since the early ‘90s
Oh sad to say not that familiar with this man's work but RIP to this individual, his music must have been amazing.
Very sad news, I really enjoy the Eternal Darkness and Blood Omen soundtracks, masterpieces.
You are right in saying that there was a lot of hate for this game, and based on that hate I felt the need to try the demo (I realise this is warped logic). The demo was ok, not brilliant, but enough to make me want to buy the game.
What surprised me was not that I enjoyed the game, but the fact that the more I played the more I became addicted to it.
I put more hours into this game than I have into any other game on the 360.
In the end I had to force myself to stop playing so that I could play some of the other great games that were coming out in the lead up to Christmas last year.
Too Human 2 (if it ever happens) will be a 1st day purchase for me, and if they can include 4 player co-op and a few more missions it would make it even better.
