A multiplayer beta test for Xbox Game Studios and The Coalition's third-person shooter, Gears of War: Reloaded, is possibly incoming.
It seems that from Microsoft they want to encourage players to play the game when the time comes in August.
I got mine, but I don't feel in a rush to play it. I'll hit it eventually no doubt, but I'm not playing games on my PC much lately bc I like to feel a separation from my workspace & my gaming space. Feels good to get away from the computer some.
I redeemed the code though, so Microsoft can go ahead and boast about another copy "sold", yay!

I’m so glad to be returning to this series after so many years. The trilogy was honestly some of the best gaming of that gen for me. 4 and 5 just was missing something and I didn’t find them as fun as. 1-3. I’m going to attempt the platinum, but I suck at MP.
Agree i actually liked the first 2 hours of 4 but then its like it hit a wall.
5 was a significant improvement but not even close the the original trilogy
1 2 and 3 were awesome. Especially 2 it was a wonderful time to be an Xbox owner. Although I was a PS3 guy back then you can't not argue that 360 brought the games. Wish those days were back...
That would be great if the Playstation version outsells the Xbox version. Considering XBox players will play it on Gamepass, it probably will! 😆

Well the irony of the situation is that I actually got a free copy for owning the Ultimate Edition on PC, so I won't be buying it again on PS5. ;P
Yes, and as long as PS fans keep receiving Xbox first party games(and they will) I'm sure they're happy with that. Lol.
PS guys are funding Xbox software, and giving people reasons to not buy Xbox hardware, which is accelerating Xbox's exit from the hardware space.

Yea, I've always been a multiplatform gamer, never claimed otherwise. I love MS Flight Sim (especially in VR) & Forza Horizon games, supported the few MS games I do enjoy on PC throughout the years. I just swore off XBox hardware looong ago with 3 red ringed 360s, and look forward to the day that they get pushed out of hardware all together out of spite for that. (yep, I'll never let it go! 😆) They're playing right into the mega 3rd party publisher route, basically in line to be the American Tencent. I just really hate MS's lack of building of new quality IP like they used to. Lack of risk, lack of vision these days.
If you already own Gears Ultimate, like many of us, Reloaded is free on Series consoles and PC. But, I agree It would be great for Xbox gamers to play it on GP while the game is being sold to PlayStation. That is a win is a win in my book. That is great revenue to fund GP or more Microsoft or Xbox stuff.
@Hooman as far as The MS quarterly earnings GP has been sustaining itself and even making up a large percentage games, service and content for Xbox. It's doing fine in its own. Obviously it'll do better with multiplat releases, clearly, money from both ends are being made.

That's all stuff that would have existed with or without Microsoft. All they did was throw some extra cash. It had nothing to do with Microsoft's creative vision and you know it.

Fair enough. I want to see the series continue, so I can definitely get behind that. It was good to get a break from the series for a while, but I'd like to see where they can take it next.

Some of their studios were on a constant verge of struggle like Obsidian. Who have to been the biggest player of this generation. Everyone talks about Nurturing Studios and MS has done just that to everyone's surprise.
Their games are everywhere so why does it matter how it's made or who's creative or not? Why the constant crys cope and seethe about it? You're not ok.
This series is going to have a fresh start and will do great numbers. After this they could just remaster 2nd game and it would sell just as well. I was hoping for a complete collection of all gears games remastered but it seems MS wants to release one game at a time

By comparison, unlike MS, Sony doesn´t even own neither Spider-Man and/or Wolverine but you will still count both games as PS owned exclusives games and celebrate whatever milestone in sales on other platforms just the same, so spare me from your hypocrisy.

It looks so crisp and smooth.
120fps locked maxed out on a 4070 at 1440 ultrawide, Series X feels just as good and locks at 120 too. As it does everywhere according to this. Coalition knows their tech

Yeah it shows they know SX and it was the base or they just locked it at 120 on it while leaving everything else open and it shows when the SS dipped low and even the pro dipped a bit then recovered.
Personally to me all looks good and everything should be happy which their version until they go to a friend house with a better model and see the difference. For me is a day one on disk or when they drop the price for digital.
If the Pro is the most powerful console, It should run the best on that console, I would think.

I borrowed doom from a mate cause I refused to pay full price for a game not on disc have to admit i enjoyed it.
Meaning they did a good job on this PS version. With doom, reports show the PS Pro performing worse than the series S in some instances. Doom team was on obvious BS. This team actually has PS5 and series X basically locked and PS Pro as the best place to play. Stuff that simply makes sense.
I cant say i noticed any issues then game was buttery smooth and looked great on ps5.
I would only really complain about the dragon segments as I found the controls pretty weak but zero complaints about visuals

I'm going to play Gears Ultimate Edition to get ready for Gears Reloaded. There's no wall canceling in Gears 1. I just hope PlayStation players new to the series have patience because you are going to start off struggling in multiplayer against us Gears OG’s. I'd been playing Gears since 2006. It’s a huge learning curve.
The MP isn't rocket science and PS players aren't gonna get cooked by Xbox players. It literally takes about 5 mins to get every aspect of the MP, it's not very technical. It's a great MP game and everyone will enjoy it.
