Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is exceeding all expectations, both critically and commercially. That means it’s selling out at retail, with many fans unable to get their hands on a physical PS5 copy. Writing on X (or Twitter), developer Sandfall Interactive has acknowledged the issues, and says it’s working hard to rectify them.
"Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a narrative-driven JRPG by Sandfall Interactive, an indie development team from France. The game is a solo adventure with publishing by Kepler Interactive (Windblown, Pacific Drive). It is available now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam or Epic." Jordan @ Thumb Culture
While Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 features an array of interesting characters, the players unanimously agree and who the best character of them all is.
I actually like all of the characters. It's part of what makes the game good. No annoying cast like in the new Dragon age or Saints Row games.
Personally I like Lune best. The friendship between Verso and Monoco is also funny.
I'm impressed at the likability of EVERY character in the game. Yes, I like some more than others, but they are all so interesting and unique in their own way. Plus, none of them are annoying. This is a testament to the excellent writing and character design by Sandfall. My GOTY to far.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a visually striking RPG, combining painterly aesthetics with tactical, turn-based combat in a surreal French-inspired fantasy world. One of the game’s most impressive achievements is its broad compatibility across a range of hardware, thanks to well-optimized graphics settings. Whether you’re gaming on a high-end rig or a modest setup, you can tune the settings for a satisfying mix of beauty and responsiveness.
I just checked and the PS5 version is currently sold out at Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop for me.
Good thing I preordered it. The game is amazing!
Always great to see an amazing game selling out of physical copies. Easily my GOTY and probably my favourite game this generation.
This game IS art. I'm savoring every single bit of it!
