So many games to play right now. I’ll get to this sometime this next couple of months

FACTUAL evidence23d ago

This is one of my most anticipated, and I’m hoping it lives up to expectations. Hoping it has a normal leveling system and not just a skill tree.

jznrpg22d ago

It is up there for me as well. The problem for me is I have a stack of games that are right there with it. I have it preordered to support the devs but for time to actually play it, it’s going to be a little while

JEECE23d ago

I can't imagine the devs of this one are pleased about the Oblivion news, especially if it actually drops tomorrow. Seems like an unnecessary decision to put Oblivion so close to this game.

UnbreakableAlex22d ago

What if I told you, you can play one after the other?

JEECE22d ago

@UnbreakableAlex

Of course you can. But it's very silly to pretend that everyone pays the same amount of attention to games that people on here do. Of course people who are already specifically interested in both games will still play both, if they really want to. But a lot of people will only play a game if it breaks into the public consciousness, and having a big game in the same or similar genre launching close to your game is one of the worst things that can happen to you if you are a dev. Look what happened to Titanfall 2. You sometimes even see publishers move the launch of their game to avoid launching near larger games that will draw a lot of attention away.

Today, Oblivion Remastered and Obscur on Thursday? I'm going to have a few good months of gaming. (I only play RPG's on weekends)

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Switch 2 Version Is Something Sandfall Thinks Could Be "Interesting"

Sandfall CEO has recently commented on the chances of a Switch 2 version of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Goodguy0119h ago

The game runs fine on the deck but visuals do take a big hit. I wonder how Sandfall would port this to the switch 2 if they do.

Neonridr18h ago

take the Steam Deck as your base and probably improve it a little bit. DLSS could maybe do more than FSR.

repsahj16h ago(Edited 16h ago)

I think Switch 2 can. There are tests that show Switch 2 is better than Rog Ally, and we know Rog Ally is better than steam deck right?

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Devs Never Believed Mindset of “Turn-Based Players Don’t Like Action”

Sandfall's CEO admitted that he felt a little burned out by JRPGs and talked about the dilemma with turn-based gameplay.

Goodguy012d ago

I like both, it's very much all about execution though. Plenty of turn basedand action games I fine absolutely boring and generic. You need to nail the gameplay and mechanics. Sandfall did something amazing by combining a mix of some of the best combat systems out there and made it real engaging and entertaining for huge turn based fans and even real time.

Parry is also a big one, I think all games need parry lol.

XiNatsuDragnel2d ago

Both are good but you need to balance these factors

jznrpg1d 10h ago

I like all types of RPGs- action, pure turn based, hybrid. Quality is what matters to me

neutralgamer19921d 10h ago

Whatever is developers vision works best. Gaming industry is big enough where we can have multiple genre exist

CrimsonWing691d 8h ago

I mean, people have only just f*cking cried about it for ages when things go real-time… who would’ve thunk giving people what they want would make them buy something

Elda1d 7h ago

In this generation I don't mind turn base if the battle system plays like Persona 5 & Expedition 33. I also enjoyed the 16 year old turn base
battle system in FFXIII which was the Paradigm system.

Samonuske22h ago

Chrono Trigger still has some of the best turnbased combat in a JRPG to this day imo. Still gotta play Lost Odyssey but I've heard great things

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (PS5) Review | VGChartz

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 brings to life a dark yet colorful fantasy world, with amazing gameplay, meaningful relationships, and a general sense of wonder in one of the decade’s finest games, then paints it bleak with its final unsatisfying stroke. That’s not a fun conclusion to have to draw after being so deeply invested in the title - I badly wanted it to be the incredibly rare 10/10 game that it almost managed to be. Instead, it lands itself as an(other) almost masterpiece; one that feels absolutely incroyable while playing it, but left me with mixed feelings afterwards – and not in the way the developers intended."
