Please give this treatment to Morrowind before we die

anast15d ago

I would even buy an Xbox if they did and it was exclusive.

VenomUK15d ago

@anast said: “I would even buy an Xbox if they did and it was exclusive.”
For the good of all that is holy let it go, Xbox and Exclusive are two words that no longer go together.

I get it, we’re all sad about what’s transpired but you might as well say “I would even buy a Dreamcast if they did and it was Exclusive.” It’s the past, these exclusives have seized to exist.

anast15d ago

@Venom

You might need to take a break from this stuff.

VenomUK14d ago

@anast. I think you’re right, thank you.

Obscure_Observer15d ago

Bethesda is so much better under the Xbox brand.

After Oblivion, I can definitely see them release a Morrowind along with both Bloodmoon and Tribunal remade from the ground up.

Putte15d ago

Are you trolling. If so then fine. No props. But for real Bethesda has gone downhill very fast. This oblivion remake isn't even a Bethesda remake. Made by another team

Profchaos15d ago (Edited 15d ago )

They released redfall and starfield under xbox

Christopher15d ago

IMHO, core Bethesda has been downward since the 360 period. It's not so much that the games overall 'suck' they just aren't 'as good'. Lucky for them, people really like the IPs.

andy8515d ago (Edited 15d ago )

This can't be a real comment. The only games they've released under Xbox has been their worst game ever...and the dull game that is starfield. And haven't they outsourced the oblivion remaster to someone else? 😂😂

anast15d ago

Bethesda had already peaked before Xbox got them.

Why did they take away the color and just make it brown?

OtterX15d ago

Yikes. Yea, I was hoping for crazy beautiful green nature everywhere. That's what I remember about Oblivion vs all the snowiness of Skyrim. Instead, it looks like I dropped my glasses in a horse turd, tried to wipe it off and now am stuck w a poo filter.

RaidenBlack15d ago

Dunno how real it is,
But I'll still prefer this over the colorful hodge podge of a GTA remaster that R* commisioned for release.
At least this one looks sharp and blobby.

VenomUK15d ago (Edited 15d ago )

@RaidenBlack FFS you’re confusing me, do you like it blobby or not?

RaidenBlack15d ago

Obscure_Observer15d ago

"Why did they take away the color and just make it brown?"

Maybe the Remake features dynamic day and night cycles and its dusk in the picture.

isarai15d ago

I really hope this is the case 🙏

sinspirit15d ago

The original did so of course it would. But night time wasn't brownish grey. The brightness goes down with the sun but not all that color.

yeastori15d ago

could just be the time of day, but if its really a art design change to meet some kind of modern aesthetics to conform with developer or publisher demands then its a big L

I want to believe it, but AI/Fan work can go a long way, Happy to wait and not get crushed.
Oblivion was my first elder scrolls and ive easily got 1000+ hours in it.

ZeekQuattro15d ago

Hope this isn't an elaborate hoax. Been curious about Oblivion but it hasn't aged well so I never bothered buying it on the Microsoft storefront. My first ES was Skyrim so I don't have nostalgia for the older titles to force myself to play them.

Every legitimate leaker has confirmed this

No, Oblivion Remastered Is Not a Remake—And Here’s Why That Matters

The Outerhaven says: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered looks fantastic, but that doesn’t make it a remake. Here's why the distinction matters for gamers and developers.

Just like how, RE2 was/is regarded as a Remake benchmark (FF7 is a more ambitious project) and later that became SH2 ... Oblivion should be the new Remaster benchmark (although Nightdive's multitude of Remaster efforts should also be commendable) ... previously held by CoD4 Remaster and recently Dead Rising Remaster
Other notable mentions : Remasters : Halo and Gears Anniversaries, Tomb Raiders, MediEvil etc
Remakes : Mafia 1, Demon Souls, Dead Space, Ninja Gaiden 2, Persona 3 Reload, Spyro Reignited etc

+ upcoming Half Life 2 Remix and MGS Delta

cloganart2h ago(Edited 2h ago)

So glad MGS Delta is being done by Virtuos!

These guys are now superstars. So happy.

darthv726h ago

Why does the naming matter at all? Let's all just be glad its a better version of oblivion than what initially released all those years ago. Getting caught up in a moniker is not the hill anyone should die on.

jznrpg6h ago

It’s not a full remake but it’s plenty good enough. I just hope for a physical copy!

andy854h ago

It's more of a remake than a lot of games that are actually labelled a remake

It has a lot more effort than a lot of remasters. I don’t mind when some games stick to the original in a remaster(like Suikoden as I love the pixel art) but I don’t think there should be any complaints when they are much closer to a remake but calling it a remaster. Complaining about bugs makes sense but complaining about port/remaster/remake doesn’t to me with this one.
