Player Experiences Indiana Jones and the Great Circle in Third-Person and It's Great

A player ran into a bug that caused Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to turn into third-person POV and it's pretty wonderful.

I wouldn't have minded a 3rd person toggle for exploration.

Im sure we've all seen the movies, but this time YOU are in the movie so you see everything through your own eyes. This would make for a good VR experience as well. The periodic shift to 3rd person is a nice break in the action but I wouldnt want the whole game like that. There is something to be said about looking around and seeing things through that 1st person lens. Being over the shoulder sort of loses some of that charm.

I don’t really get the feeling that “I am in the movie,” I think if first person can move the camera in ways that feel organic with intricate animations it can be cool. One game I enjoyed that made the camera in first person move more dynamically was Breakdown on the Xbox and Mirror’s Edge was cool. For me, I get sort of the same level of immersion whether it’s first or third person, I just prefer third-person over first because it’s more appealing to see the character and action from that perspective.

I tried playing GTA 5 in first person and it felt crazy weird. It’s just better in third person and I think Indiana Jones could’ve done things in a hybrid fashion. Like the game is third person and if you need to solve puzzles you could go into first.

Mirrors Edge was a good attempt at making a more organic feeling FPS game with physical combat but this game is pretty bad when it comes to the physical combat. It makes the game look amateurish.

It would be third person then if you were in the movie. It's not Blair Witch, you know.

There was no reason not to include it, patch it in just like how RE8 got it patched in. Comparisons to Uncharted isn't a reason, its an excuse.

Especially when the counter point to any of that bulls*** would be "Indiana is basically the original that games like Uncharted were inspired by"

Not only that but the game is nothing like Uncharted and I actually love the direction they went in.

Wonder if they can it later on down the road, kinda how Capcom did with resident evil village

That would be dope, bring it more in line with the classic games on ps2/xbox/GC

I don't think the physical combat would look good in 3rd person because of the way it plays in FPS.

This game is sounding more worst, the more I hear about it. I actually thought the game did have a third person perspective out of combat. Going to skip this one then.

Just play it first, then make your judgements. Both views have their advantages.

1st person games in this genre are not as popular with the casual audiences. Gun play works fine in first person but as shown in this game the physical combat is awful, even Gang Beasts looks better. I'd suspect they probably lost a lot of casual gamers with this decision.
