This year’s F1 game is skipping the last-generation consoles for the first time in ten years. Codemasters explains why.
Well that's certainly interesting. I know in my house we have both the X and S. I assume there are many others who started out with the S and graduated to the X when they felt the time was right. We should see a similar approach with the 5 Pro and users who will double dip to get the better machine after having the former.
So if that's the trend in the US, and Japan (319k S vs 307k X) is roughly 50-50 as well, then we just might be able to deduce that it is roughly 50-50 worldwide.
A market clearly exists there. It'll be interesting to see the split after the holiday period, where Series S bundles will probably be sold around $200
Finally!
Hopefully MS will learn their lesson and release just one mainline and powerful next gen console in 2026. And I hope their rumored handheld to be only a streaming device/companion for the next Xbox, for gaming on the go.
amazing numbers for Astro Bot!
"Series X Now Outselling Series S in US"
Press X to doubt.
So you're telling me that the series x managed to become the lead selling console in the chart release of the exact month the PS5 Pro went on sale... This reminds me of how when the xbonex went on sale NPD/Circana which had always reported console sales switched to dollar sales because the x was so much more expensive it skewed the charts.
When this 25/75 split was revealed Microsoft had approximately 20,000,000 sales.
5,000,000 x
15,000,000 s
Today they have 30,000,000 , 10,000,000 more then the original statement, so Microsoft would have had to have sold every single console as an x to reach 15,000,001
I am using total sales not just US because the original statement wasn't broken down by region. But the idea that in 10,000,000 total sales that the x could have overtaken the s when the split given is 58% / 42% seems mathematically improbable at best.
So, yeah mashing X
