Raise the pitchforks!

But seriously, I don't understand the fuss. I'd want to get my PSN trophies on my PC titles if I were to buy Playstation games on PC.

ocelot07223d ago

The only issue I find is a lot of countries don't have PSN. So they miss out on the latest Sony PC releases.

But for someone like me who lives in the UK I don't have a issue.

OtterX223d ago

Ok, that's definitely understandable then.

I have no problem logging into my XBox account either on Steam to get achievements on the handful of titles I play. I actually just picked up Sunset Overdrive FINALLY, bc it's on sale for only 4.99. I lost hope that it would come to PS4/PS5.

RedDevils223d ago

The game will be crack day one.

andy85223d ago

Ooo...can you get trophies on PC on this now? That shall be my platform of choice when I play this I think then

Jingsing223d ago

It is to stop piracy, but it isn't working. What happens is you get 30,000 downloads on Steam and half a million on various other "free" websites. People are not prepared to pay the high prices for Sony games on PC and I'm not prepared to buy Sony games that aren't on a disc at a reasonable price. Sony is committing seppuku either way.

OtterX223d ago

"I'm not prepared to buy Sony games that aren't on a disc at a reasonable price."

Show me where you can buy any PC games on disc now days. I'm waiting.

Jingsing223d ago (Edited 223d ago )

@OtterX I was referring to the console side when it comes to discs. Sony is rubbing everyone the wrong way with their half in half out strategy and satisfying no one.

OtterX223d ago (Edited 223d ago )

@Jingsing Huh? This article is about Playstation games on PC.

You literally said that people are not prepared to buy Sony games on PC for a high price and you won't personally buy them if they aren't on disc in the same sentence. You make no sense.

This is off topic, so I'll flag it as so.

mkis007222d ago

If releasing on pc wasn't worth it, they wouldn't do it. It must be lucrative pirates be damned.

Enjoy SSOD... its def better on PC thanks to 60fps or more. I tried to go back and play it on my SX and that 30fps is just not good for a game like that. A slower paced game like Ryse is fine but even that feels more fluid on my steam deck thanks to more fps.

OtterX223d ago

Thanks! Yea I look forward to jumping in this weekend.

For all the whining the PC users are doing about this, it won't even matter one bit or hurt Sony in any way. All they're doing is looking stupid since they already have a ton of launchers installed on their machines, but they whine about a login, which you could make using dummy infos? They're a bunch of entitled babies who cry about everything. It's like their parents never told them no when they were kids, now they can't handle rejection like normal men.

Vits223d ago

Yes, because normal men side with the California-based mega-corporation against their own rights as consumers. That's what normal men do. Excuse me, did I say normal men? I mean, little b!tches. But for you, that means the same, I suppose.

Shiore2u223d ago (Edited 223d ago )

Real normal men spend $100 on top of a $700 "upgrade" to be able to keep playing the games they've already paid too much for on disc. Getting screwed over by suits without question or foresight is the ultimate sign of virility, or some shit.

fsfsxii223d ago

Equating masculinity with consumer rights, when men didnt have to rely on anybody but themsleves is the ultimate bitch mentality. Go make your own shit.

MrNinosan223d ago

Is there a "consumers right" to play Playstation Studio games without PSN?
You are clearly one if those Gigi was referring to.

Why is this such an issue? I never once cried when I had to login to Blizzard’s account to play Diablo 4 on PS5. People are unbelievable.

DustMan223d ago

It's because it's Sony. PC gamers seem to think they are being done wrong by needing a PSN account to play their games at all. All the launchers needed, and this is the line....If this was 3rd party game publisher making it mandatory then I'd be a bit more put off. The fact that we are getting previous exclusive games people bought playstations to play I think we get a pretty good deal out of it.

New in-game content incentives coming to PlayStation games on PC

Playstation writes: "Starting with tomorrow’s release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for PC, we’re working to add more benefits to playing with an account for PlayStation Network. The Last of Us Part II Remastered (coming April 3, 2025), in addition to God of War Ragnarök and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, will all soon be adding in-game content unlocks for PlayStation Network account users.

An account for PlayStation Network will become optional for these titles on PC. Players who still opt to sign into a PlayStation Network account will also enjoy added benefits like trophies and friend management."

Best Remaster of 2024

VGChartz's Taneli Palola: "We're living in the era of remasters today, with seemingly every even remotely relevant title of yesteryear getting its second - or sometimes third - turn at the spotlight. Yet, many of these returning names end up back right where they came from, lost and forgotten amidst a sea of other remasters, remakes, and reimaginings. Not the case with these four titles, which were given a new lease on life in 2024, and made the most of that opportunity."
