Since this takes place hundreds of years after Tsushima in 1603 which is the year Japan begins their isolation, I hope the next and final game takes place either around the time America forces force Japan to re-open in the 1850s. I'd love to see how they depict Perry's ships arriving and having the samurai realize that a new age is about to dawn on them. Afterwards, I think they should just either move on to a new IP or start doing other time periods. I'd love for them to do Ancient Rome during the Punic Wars.

inFamous has had three different protagonists.
Spider-Man has 2 (5 playable characters though all together). TLOU - 3 over two games. Uncharted has its spin-off.

You're gatekeeping a franchise for having two characters in two different games with two different subtitles taking place 300 years apart, from a developer that routinely mixes up their characters.

People forget that these are still video-games. The same map again just a few years later fighting a similar invasion would be repetitive.

And it would limit improvements to combat - SuckerPunch said in 2020 that we were not able to dual wield in GOT because Jin "was trained to fight with a single sword in a traditional style". This new character has dual katanas and will fight differently.

The map also needs to be completely fresh and fun to explore all over again.

I like that the Ghosts series is [potentially] becoming an anthology. You can make arguments for and against Jin’s story being complete.Regardless of which ending you chose for Ghost of Tsushima, Jin Saki became an exile. Since the series is based on Japanese history, the actions of Jin Saki don’t really influence potential playable eras.

Ainu tribe protagonist? Hokkaido didn’t officially become a part of japan until the 1800s. Is the “ghost” part about her forsaking her Ainu tradition and embracing invader japanese way of fighting?

I always said that if AC want to explore inclusivity in japan they’d be better off with Ainu themed setting, looks like I got my wish with the best possible developer for it.

I anticipated this game since playing Ghost of Tsushima. Probably one of my type 5 favorite games in the last 5 years
I trust SuckerPunch to knock it out of the park.
That being said, I’m still partial to Jin Sakai. But this is based over 300 years after the first.

THIS is why the argument against a PS5 PRo is ridiculous. Fair enough you don't have to buy it, but the console is absolutely wanted by millions. I'm going to play every NEW game on the Pro. I dont have to choose performace mode, it will just be, along with higher res. Every single game coming out will be better on the Pro, 3rd party included. I want to play Ghost Of Yotei the best way on console.

I'm convinced that if this had been Ghost of Tsushima 2, the same people who are now whining about "No Jin" would have been whining that "the game looks the same and has basically the same map," just like they did with God of War Ragnarok and Spiderman 2. You can't please some people.

I see they are going for the Assassins Creed approach by jumping timelines and changing characters.
