Alan Wake II Is Finally Getting A Physical Release

The sequel was notably a digital-only release when it launched last year.

anast379d ago

HA! It's little late, but it might bring up those numbers.

OhReginald378d ago

So you would rather have a physcial edition that doesn't include the day 1 patches and bug fixes Than a complete updated version of the game?

andy85378d ago

Yes? Literally. Why would I want to wait nearly a year for the sake of downloading patches

shinoff2183378d ago

I'll take the most up to date physical. I've got no issue with having to play things on day 1 most of the time.

isarai378d ago

Nah, was a dumb move to launch with no physical. But I've seen MANY people including myself waiting for a physical release of this game. Already pre-ordered mine.

gold_drake379d ago

its about time

but ... i already saw limited run games selling it.

if there are others selling it too, i will get it, but if not, hard pass.

Petebloodyonion378d ago

Limited Run only makes the Collector edition.
The deluxe edition will be available everywhere

isarai378d ago

This, just pre-ordered mine from GameStop

ActualWhiteMan378d ago

Wont buy that shit til it’s on sale on steam.

TheColbertinator378d ago

Sounds good if they get the game on the disc itself not just a disc that sends you online to download it.

CobraKai378d ago

Now im interested. Looks like i gotta just wait patiently for Hellblade 2 um too.

How the Remedy Connected Universe does the multiverse right

ScribbleCat said: Media is certainly no stranger to connecting all their properties together. Comic books have been doing this for generations, and TV is also known for special crossover episodes, which confirm the notion that they take place in the same fictional world. Video games, which can be barely called a new medium at this point, also have some interesting overlaps with connecting different games. For example, Valve’s Portal and Half-Life show how subtle hints can give players more theories to chew on. Old classics like DOOM and Wolfenstein also share similarities. But my favorite connection between games is the Remedy Connected Universe. While only a connection between Alan Wake and Control have been confirmed, there is SO much more to explore with Remedy’s crazy take on this old formula. And, according to Sam Lake, this is only the beginning.

They really should release the full Quantum Break experience on the PS5. Sure, it's a middle-of-the-road third-person shooter and a perfect example of self-indulgence, but why not? It was fun in short burst and it completes the Remedy set until Max Payne 1+2 Remakes get released later on.

Do it, Microsawft. Don't be cowards.

Remedy Talks Going Over Budget on Alan Wake 2

Remedy says there's always a big challenge trying to match creative ambition with realistic budgets, and how many units you can sell.

TheColbertinator91d ago

I wish they had released a Steam version on launch. I feel that should have been part of their focus right away from announcing the game.

LucasRuinedChildhood90d ago

They definitely wanted to but Epic published the game.

REDGUM91d ago

Would have made up alot of ground had they have released a physical version at the same time as the digital release.
I think thats where it bit them in the bum to be honest.

IAMRealHooman90d ago

honest question, have they broken even yet?

senorfartcushion90d ago

Weren't they whining over not breaking even a few weeks ago? No all-of-a-sudden they're talking about overspending on the budget?

Should have been a physical release as well at launch. That would have changed the numbers. Hopefully they and others learn from this digital is great but so many out there like physical too.

ravens52128d ago

Yup. I'd like to know how many physical copies it sold. I still haven't bought it yet, but I plan to.

jznrpg91d ago (Edited 91d ago )

I bought it right away but I’m sure it recieved less sales than it would have. I the end I’d rather wait to have dlc and game on disc, but you never know if that’s going to happen or not.
