The PlayStation Portal at least makes stick drift easier to repair

It’s easier than fixing stick drift on DualSense controllers.

I'm glad this is addressed, as I've seen this concern a number of times now, and was a bit concerned for it myself. Glad to hear it's an easy fix!

Eonjay558d ago

Right. Especially given that the Portal is $200... being able to easily replace them yourself is ideal.

Vits559d ago

The sticks are "vita-style" which makes them much easier to substitute. Just two screws and a ribbon cable. Now the question is if we are going to see any third-party manufacturer making those stick modules so they can be cheap like the PS Vita 2000 or if like the Vita 1000 people will be stuck paying $15 to $20 for a single original module.

Look at those downvotes yet right now sony has stopped making DS4 pads psvr 1 gear and has made the ps5 a ewaist king.

VITS is 100% right but sadly the customer base loves ewaist.

Mr_cheese558d ago

Are you trying to say e-waste? 🤣

XiNatsuDragnel559d ago

Good stuff I wished they'll release vita 2 imo

jznrpg558d ago

Me too but I’m happy with the portal

S2Killinit558d ago

Me too. But I’m really happy with Portal as well.

Eonjay558d ago

I guess I'm the odd man out. I like the fact that the hundreds of PS4/PS5 games I already own are usable in mobile. I don't want to have to buy a whole new set of games. Also, this addresses my biggest Vita issue which was memory sticks. Also graphics are top notch.

anast559d ago

It's not hard to fix on the other controllers, it if isn't completely shot.

porkChop559d ago

Every first party controller/device should be using hall effect sticks at this point. But then you'd have less reason to buy new, overpriced controllers.

Stanjara558d ago

Yup, planned obsolescence. Nintendo knew exactly what they're doing.

At last! One of the most important missing feature is finally here. Pausing the game during rest mode is really needed.
