God Of War Is Among The Most-Played Franchises On PS Plus’ Classics Catalog

As per new stats on the PlayStation website, God of War is the most-played franchise in the PS Plus Premium classic games catalog.

Hardly suprised. God of War is the biggest playstation brand.

It's definitely up with the big dogs, but I think Gran Turismo, The Last of Us and Spiderman are too. Then there's Uncharted, Horizon and Ratchet & Clank - all HUGE selling franchises.

I think with the success of Ragnarok, younger players might have been curious as to the GOW past games - certainly that was the case with my nephew. He was so enamoured with it (after 2018 and Ragnarok), he went and played the entire back catalogue of games!

Man ps 2/3 had so many diverse exclusives that pushed innovation.

Gran turismo peaked on ps3 been downhill sense

But i am those weird old gamers that talk about cheat codes games on a thing called a disc and a console that did not need internet not even patches. Heck i remember when we had 720p 30fps games now we get 728p up-scaled 28fps stuff like jedi survivor.

Definitely big but id say uncharted almost reaches that level as well.
Infamous was also big during its time but didnt reach the same popularity.

Sony has a ton of successful original IP. Nintendo does as well. If only another competitor did the same instead of primarily taking things away.

Makes sense. GoW is awesome. 1/2/3 and the newer games are all amazing. Ascension is pretty good too but didn’t get as much love coming off of the epic GoW3

And so on and so on..
I would say being It's tenure and popularity of today, it should be considered 1 of the elite franchises of Sony.

Alot of us 30 age gamers grew up middle school/high school to the release of God of War. For its time then, it truly was a spectacle of single player experience.

Deservedly so, and not exactly surprised. God of War is synonymous with gaming nowadays. Kratos, Nathan, Master Chief, Mario, Link, Freeman.

….Still wish Ragnarok managed to live up to the scale of the series.
