Cyberpunk 2077 path tracing ON & OFF comparison (1440p Quality DLSS)

CG writes: In this video, we take a look at a specific well-known Night City motel in Cyberpunk 2077, where we look at the differences when using the recently released path tracing versus normal ray tracing. Can you spot the differences? We certainly can especially as light sources illuminate far more realistically with path tracing enabled. We think there is some merit having darker scenes with path tracing disabled, the result is you tend to lose a lot of the details. Whilst for now Cyberpunk 2077 path tracing is expensive, hopefully it’s something that will be manageable on current gen consoles as well in the future.

I really want to know what's going on with docked vrr cause cyberpunk at 40 fps docked seems to be a choice driven by vrr

DLSS should help the Nintendo Switch 2 with longevity

Profchaos12d ago (Edited 12d ago )

Based on so e of the impossible ports we saw on switch 1 I'm not worried about the hardwares longevity.

Next gen systems ps6 and next box might slow down switch 2 development but given leaks showing PlayStation releasing a new portable system around the same time as ps6 that can play ps5 games says that next gen cross gen seems to be poised to last the entire generation

And right now I'd say there isn't much that couldn't be scaled down to run on switch 2

Goodguy0113d ago

Nvidia or Nintendo need to come out and detail how dlss will work on switch 2. Like is it dlss4? Or just completely customized for the switch.

Tacoboto13d ago

I'm sure they've detailed exactly that in documentation provided to developers.

It will probably be behind a $20 demo that we have to download. 😂

PRIMORDUS13d ago

I like to know as well, which version of DLSS? 2, 3, 3.5 or 4? I mean it's not that hard for Nintendo to say which version games will use.

Profchaos12d ago (Edited 12d ago )

Given the specs of the system and the time the hardware was produced if I had a stab in the dark I'd say a heavily customised dlss3

Neonridr13d ago

it's GPU is based around ampere technology, which is 3 series cards tech. So some features from DLSS4 can be ported down to older cards, just not some 5 series exclusive features like multi-frame gen.

Notellin13d ago

If they did what would that be even do for you?

originaljohn9d ago

Why do you care, are you a developer?

40fps docked is a interesting choice as it's in the vrr range but we don't have confirmation of vrr docked
