High on Life Gameplay Max Settings 4K - RTX 4090 - Beautiful looking game regardless

Rob Cram writes: High On Life released recently with an abundance of mixed reviews for this off-the-cuff first person shooter from the mind of Justin Roiland (of Rick and Morty fame) studio Squanch Games, Inc. Aside from the much discussed and somewhat divisive talking/humour in this game, one thing that is clear and can’t really be argued against, is how beautiful it all looks. The shooting mechanics work very well too. Reminding us of a cross between, Oddworld Strangers Wrath and BulletStorm.

Its a shame this game was fleshed out a bit more - it looks like fun

headshotfrosty903d ago

Its very fun. Don't let the reviews fool you on this one. Gets better and better as you play. 8/10

Fleshed out how?

Good Graphics -Check
Funny AF-Check
Solid fun gameplay-Check
good voice acting-Check
Crazy amount of world building-check

For a AA game, it is top shelf stuff.

darthv72903d ago

ummm..... why not play it for yourself?

it IS fun.

bangoskank903d ago

How do you know it isn't "fleshed out" if you haven't played it. The game is a lot of fun. Not for everyone though.

It looks incredible on an OLED in 4K. The humor for this is just right. This game is definitely something special.

Curious on what you got? I got a 55" LG C2 back in October. It's great.

jjb1981902d ago

I have the the LG 48GQ900. It's always compared to the C2 from the videos I've seen. The color depth is incredible. It has Gsync and HDR. It's a 48" panel and took a little getting used to from my ultrawide but I had to put the 4090 to the test. I'm getting the max 138Hz that I set on every game except CyberPunk.

I beat it and ready for another play through

It was almost unbearable to watch the player walk away from "Fresh Meat" without shooting him.

Don't care for Payday but the other 2 are okay.

crazyCoconuts133d ago

Looking forward to High on Life. It's supposed to be pretty funny

Still no reason to renew the PS+ subscription.. man i miss the offerings during PS3 days.

OmegaSoldati133d ago

Payday veteran here. Level 25 infamy (0 TO 100 LVL 25 times). Payday 2 is way better than Payday 3. They are desperate, the new game failed, next Playstation Store sale all the DLC will be on sale, common and cheap strategy on the PS Plus + PS Store.

IAMRealHooman133d ago

second this.....its not great but rockay city became my " Payday 3.

FinalFantasyFanatic132d ago

I already bought High on Life on PC, but I guess I'll enjoy Pac-Man on/off when I feel like it.

Update on PS4 Games for PlayStation Plus

"As many of our players are currently playing on PS5 and have shifted toward redeeming and accessing PS5 titles from the Monthly Games and Game Catalog benefit, PlayStation Plus is also evolving with this trend and will focus on offering PS5 titles through the Monthly Games and Game Catalog benefit starting January 2026. As we shift to PS5, PS4 games will no longer be a key benefit and will only be occasionally offered for PlayStation Plus Monthly Games and Game Catalog starting January 2026. We may still provide titles that can be playable on both PS4 and PS5 consoles after this date.

Please note, this won’t affect the PS4 Monthly Games that you have already redeemed from PlayStation Plus. You’ll continue to have access to games you’ve already redeemed as long as you remain a member. For Game Catalog, PS4 games will still be available to play until it leaves the catalog as part of our monthly refresh.

We’ll continue to evolve the experience of PlayStation Plus and optimize the benefits you receive, including exclusive discounts, online multiplayer access, online game save storage and more. As we shift our focus to PS5, we look forward to adding new PS5 titles monthly for you to enjoy."

Hmm

Terry_B133d ago (Edited 133d ago )

If that means 3 ps5 ps+ games in 2026 every month I am all for it. The PS4 is getting less and less new games /ports anyway which would mean just more older PS4 games

mkis007133d ago

A year from now isn't soon enough lol.

darthv72133d ago

Sounds similar to what MS did with 360 / OG games in the GwG service. They eventually scaled them back to one a month and then ultimately just stopped giving them away altogether. They cant keep supporting the past no matter how much larger that player base may be.
