PSP game or not, Crisis Core deserves its remaster; it’s become an integral part of Final Fantasy 7

On paper, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 sounds absolutely abhorrent – so how did it become an essential part of the beloved series?

Who knows, I'm finally going to play it when it comes out this winter. But it must be pretty good. I've been watching reactions on youtube and it seems a lot of girls get emotional when they see Zack. Some look like they like him even more than Cloud.

Petebloodyonion1043d ago

It is a really good game that end perfectly with FF7.
Finished it twice and Still have my psp copy.
Also the combat system with the random slot is quite fun.
It’s really a good thing to see the game being released again.

If you're into reactions, check out Nyxipuff's reaction. Epic ugly cry at the end. Timestamped for the part at the end where she gives some clips from Crisis Core. She had to watch a playthrough since she didn't have a PSP.

Just watched a little part of it and had to turn it off. Not ready to relive those emotions yet xD

jznrpg1042d ago

I was going to buy it again because I can’t find my copy but I’ll wait and dig a little better

Vanfernal1042d ago

It's not an essential part of the series... Unless Rebirth changes a lot of the original story, the events of Crisis Core are 100% supplemental material and by no means necessary to understand the main plot of FFVII.

CrimsonWing691042d ago

I’m glad it’s a Remake and not some HD up scaled Remaster.

pietro12121042d ago

It’s not a remake, but rather a remaster similar to what they did with Final Fantasy Type 0, noticed it still uses the same animation as the PSP version.

MadLad1042d ago

That was a rough remaster.
Grabbed it when I first got my Pro, just because it was dirt cheap.

Was not a good looking game. I didn't know it was a Vita port though. Never really looked into it.

dumahim1042d ago (Edited 1042d ago )

It very much is a remaster.

Video showing side by side.
https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Fun fact. The remaster will have 63x as many pixels as the original.

franwex1042d ago

It was a good game on PSP, those who didn’t get a chance to play it will be pleasantly surprised.

This is a really solid month.

Pathfinder: WoTR is one of my favorite games it's got a D&D base with some of the best character creation of any game. And the multiple Mythic Paths offer meaningful changes to the way the game plays out and enhance character creation it's very cool.

I recommend the tactical mode for combat.

Nice, had Crisis Core in my wishlist (was waiting for a great sale since I have a huge backlog), this saves me that.

Some very cool games..
i only have Crisis Core it is a nice game but not memorable.. if you go for platinum remember to follow a guide cause everything is missable and the side missions are only unlocked by doing some stupid tasks.

Jeanne d'Arc w updated visual fidelity and trophies is pretty huge for me! It was one of my favorite PSP games, and an extremely good tactical jrpg w great story. I really look forward to Crisis Core also, since I played that back on the PSP as well.

Liking the monthly PSVR2 adds in general, although I already played this one on the OG PSVR. Luckily still catching up with the days of play freebies

Am I the only one excited for Summoner? That game was rad.

MrBaskerville289d ago

Was thinking about the game recently, been wanting to retry it, so I'm pretty excited. Though I remember liking the sequel more.

Also very interested in Jeanne D'arc.

Puty289d ago

Oh, I didn't know they rerelased Crisis Core. How is it compatible with this new canon we have going on right now? Is it at all?

VersusDMC289d ago

Goggle search says no changes. Makes sense as the remakes aren't on switch and Xbox while the CC remaster is on there. Still just a prequel to OG7.

Some serious misfires in here, but a lot of good stuff too.
