Now if only games released completed(even physical), so you can just go off the grid, or if something happens to The Internet.

Hofstaderman1262d ago

I feel like playing FF7. I'll just pop the disc in.

TheColbertinator1261d ago

EGS basically means the game does not exist to me

KingofBandits1261d ago

Sucks to be them, DRM sucks, always has. PC has long had horrible practices that all of gaming should never adopt and yet here we are. Content-less discs, unfinished games, DLC hell, ship it now patch it later...but yeah PC Master race....such pixels, much frames. PC is great for a lot of reasons but the business model it typically rides on is pure trash.

They decided to buy a game on Epic Games Store. They don't deserve any pity.
Epic should still be punished for it, though.

i mean, weve been joking about this for a while now haha

they're gonna resell this trilogy for the next 20 years ha

but i wonder ... remake and rebirth already had to cut back on the psr4and ps5.

hows that gonna go on that inferior system?

Steam deck runs it ok and the switch 2 is more powerful (docked]. Handheld mode will be the interesting one

PRIMORDUS30d ago

No physical release GTFO. This game deserves to be in your collection, not some digital shit.

raWfodog30d ago

I can definitely see them offering a boxed collection of the entire trilogy after it’s completed. Or at least it would be a smart thing to do if Square wanted to bring in more money.

Why do we think this is coming out on Switch 2 before Xbox? Any thoughts? The S2 is not more powerful than the Series S so it’s not a ‘lack of power’ issue. Perhaps the sales forecast is higher on S2 than Xbox so that’s maybe where their priority lies?

jznrpg31d ago (Edited 31d ago )

It’s definitely a sales issue. If Xbox didn’t have players used to GamePass I bet it would be there already.

andy8531d ago

The fact people will buy it. Xbox gamers generally have minimal interest in this series. Portable Final Fantasy will go down a storm in Japan where the switch sells huge numbers

repsahj30d ago

Hamaguchi states not just the remake but the entire FF7 remake series.

The Switch 2 version is really beautiful. It looked as good as the PS5 version.

But why? I mean cool and all just seems a bit random. Now if they could set a mode in Rebirth that makes these Brutal challenges easier then I am all for it...

JimBeans175d ago

Because they will release the games as a completed trilogy when the third one comes out but they need a way to deal with the boring sections.

SethNW175d ago

Probably features they are developing for future titles on same engine, or in other words third part, and they are easy and cheap to backport to released entry. Which also expands their options test feature in sort of safer environment, where it won't hurt anything if it isn't popular or used. Since everyone already bought the game. Plus they probably will want to eventually release whole trilogy as one game. Which will warrant feature parity between all three, so doing work ahead of time won't hurt.

Babadook7174d ago (Edited 174d ago )

"But why?"

Personally I like the "fast forward" as opposed to just "skip" for times when I need to replay a mini game thats combined with story (like the upper Junon 1st infantry mini game). I wanted to improve my result without skipping the part of the cinematic that reveals your result. This feature makes those moments more precise. There're probably plenty of times when this will be nicer.

andy85175d ago

I don't really see the point of speeding up cutscenes. Aren't they there to be enjoyed. And if you don't want to see them again..just skip them

jambola174d ago

Does it let me skip the forced cutscenes in battle?
like in the final battle where there's a full minute long unskippable cutscene?
will it finally do that, or do we have to wait for a pc release where 1 guys in his bedroom with no funding to fix this
