That's like me saying. Well Gears E Day is to playstation. No active development and I don't know if it's for PS5 or 6 or even 7.

Edit: Don't take any notice to what Jez says. He is a known to say BS. He was the one who was adamant that Microsoft are not releasing any Xbox exclusives on playstation and the rumours are all fanboy talk. Then a month later Microsoft announced the 4 games and then 6 months later we now know it's more than just 4 games.

VenomUK229d ago

I believe that the Final Fantasy VII will be console-exclusive to PlayStation until after all three parts of the series have been released. I base this on Sony having some kind of strong financial involvement, whether this be just the known marketing or perhaps contributing to development costs, and the fact that FFVIIR was released in 2020 and four years later hasn't been released on Xbox - which is beyond a standard one or two year exclusivity window.

Profchaos229d ago (Edited 229d ago )

Absolutely jez has the emotional regulation of a toddler and a unhealthy obsession with Microsoft and not just gaming but everything they do.

His tantrums and noni didn't say that behaviour lately has many questioning is his position in the leak tier list should be downgraded

Michiel1989229d ago (Edited 229d ago )

except gears is owned by a platformholder and final fantasy isn't, but except for that one point you were trying to make you're right.

It's obvious square will now go multiplat, it honestly just depends whats in their contract with sony if 3rd part will come to xbox or not.

shadowT229d ago

Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core is already available for Xbox Series S|X. An annoucement of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy would be no big surprise.

andy85229d ago

Big difference. I'm not sure how the Series S could even handle Rebirth and then there's part 3.

andy85229d ago

And look how many have been delayed because of all the work that had to be put into the S version. Absolutely isn't worth them doing that work.

@FactFace
That we know about? Wukong and Enotria, but most likely more 👍

Big difference actually Sony helped a lot support wise with the development of the FF7 Remake, same with Rebirth and the 3rd game likely too. Crisis Core Reunion was fully done by Square Enix.

FF16 I been hearing lots of rumors of it going to Xbox Series it makes sense with the PC release coming soon and Naoki said they wanted to bring it to Xbox. So FF16 is possible.

Interested in the difference between FF16 and the FF7 Remake series exclusive deal.

Hofstaderman229d ago

I'm still waiting for the FFXVI announcement some blowhards were throwing around here....

Starfield had a 6.8 user rating which is inherently a bad score. FF16 had 8.0. Big difference.

andy85229d ago

"Both are in the 80s so they are bad games". Wow what an opinion 😂 that mist mean Horizon Zero Dawn is a bad game too. /s

Just realised you're an alt only here to troll. Guess that shows why your opinions are absolutely nonsense 😂 good day.

As Squall would say: Whatever.

Knightofelemia229d ago

It will be a long time before it does or if it even appears on an Xbox. No one knows how long Sony has the trilogy locked as an exclusive.

MrNinosan229d ago

They had 1 year in Remake and 3 months on Rebirth.

MrNinosan228d ago

@Hof
Nah, that was the exclusivity deal.
After 1 year/3 months, Square can release on any platform.

The reason they haven't released on Xbox is however pretty obvious.

But why? I mean cool and all just seems a bit random. Now if they could set a mode in Rebirth that makes these Brutal challenges easier then I am all for it...

JimBeans133d ago

Because they will release the games as a completed trilogy when the third one comes out but they need a way to deal with the boring sections.

SethNW133d ago

Probably features they are developing for future titles on same engine, or in other words third part, and they are easy and cheap to backport to released entry. Which also expands their options test feature in sort of safer environment, where it won't hurt anything if it isn't popular or used. Since everyone already bought the game. Plus they probably will want to eventually release whole trilogy as one game. Which will warrant feature parity between all three, so doing work ahead of time won't hurt.

Babadook7132d ago (Edited 132d ago )

"But why?"

Personally I like the "fast forward" as opposed to just "skip" for times when I need to replay a mini game thats combined with story (like the upper Junon 1st infantry mini game). I wanted to improve my result without skipping the part of the cinematic that reveals your result. This feature makes those moments more precise. There're probably plenty of times when this will be nicer.

andy85132d ago

I don't really see the point of speeding up cutscenes. Aren't they there to be enjoyed. And if you don't want to see them again..just skip them

jambola132d ago

Does it let me skip the forced cutscenes in battle?
like in the final battle where there's a full minute long unskippable cutscene?
will it finally do that, or do we have to wait for a pc release where 1 guys in his bedroom with no funding to fix this

The FF7 Remake team's 10 years working together puts it "in a really great position to move forward"

In the wake of industry-wide layoffs, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director Naoki stresses how how vital it has been to have worked with the same team for the past decade – and how, hopefully, they can bring that expertise to the next project post-Part 3.

gold_drake152d ago

probably not well they most likely wont stay a team and work on other projects.

they should definitely work together for other final fantasy games again tho. they are fantastic.

Cacabunga151d ago

We want FF8 and FF9 remakes next by the same team!,,,

PapaBop151d ago

With the amount of references in FF7r for FF8, I assumed it was being hinted at but maybe it's just that it's my favourite FF game so I picked up on all the references unlike the other newer ones.

Rebel_Scum151d ago

Really dont need remakes of these. If anything should be remade then do FFVI or Chrono Trigger but I’d rather a new entry over any of this.

-Foxtrot152d ago

Shame if they move onto non FF projects, I really wanted them to do a FFVIII remake, obviously not as ambitious as the VII ones, just something more in line with the original. Even if it's in two parts with the first game covering Disc 1/2 and the second covering 3/4 with a more expanded Disc 4 after time compression, I'd be happy with that.

andy85151d ago

Pretty much what I want too. It doesn't need to be a multi part several year project just pretty it up. Apparently the rumoured 9 remake is like this so hopefully 8 and 10 too.

solideagle151d ago (Edited 151d ago )

I would want a FF X-3 with prequel story + future, I think world of FF X has more potential than VIII but that's just my opinion

D0nkeyBoi151d ago

Imagine if instead of just doing more remakes (after they finish this trilogy), they became the new main team to work on new FF mainline games? Imagine if FF 17 was made by them? 16 had good reviews at first, but over time a lot of people have been voicing how much it barely has anything to do with feeling like an FF game (other than gimmicks like including crystals and chocobos). Not saying it's a bad game, but maybe stuff like 16 should be a spinoff. We know turn based (or at least hybrid games like the FF 7 remake series) would be popular considering the insane popularity of games like Persona. The FF 7 remake games feel like the perfect balance between old school and action for the new gen.

deadchucky151d ago

i really want FFX remake but with keeping turn based system

solideagle151d ago

I think Square has moved away from full Turned based RPGs. FF VII remake have created the blue print for future JRPGs with it's fantastic gameplay.

Turn base gameplay doesn't have innovation anymore, I think Chained Echoes did a fantastic job with it + Quality of life improvements such as full heal after battle. I am also looking forward to Expedition 33.

deadchucky151d ago

lets see when expedition 33 released if its not innovation or not and did you play persona or octopath traveler 🥰
