'Kikizo: You remember close to the beginning of the series, a time when Tekken was very closely associated with PlayStation. Obviously it's not just PlayStation now, so what would you say the sort of die-hard PlayStation fans who maybe feel 'betrayed'?'
'Harada: Yes, we have developed it PlayStation 1, 2 and now 3, so it is true that we have really grown with the PlayStation brand - we have a lot of fond memories, and we worked very closely with Mr Kutaragi as well, so we had a really good relationship. We love the platform. But rather than some fans feeling disappointed, there are a lot of Xbox users out there at the moment, and a great deal of fans who only have an Xbox and really want to play Tekken, which is the number one in the fighting genre. And we just had so many fans that said "we really want to get our hands on it, but can't." So we wanted to answer those fans. And it's also the timing at this point - at the moment we have two high spec consoles on the market at the same time; the Xbox has a huge installed base in Europe and America. So it was more about trying to answer the fans' requests and having as many as possible be able to get the game - that was the objective there. '
well there you go ladies and gentlemen, Namco basically wanted more money and used the fans asked for it excuse.Namco just lost "faith" in the PS3 and themselves. So like many other developers, they think by cutting corners and making their game a multi ip, said game would sell more copies...*shakes head then considers facepalm* when will they ever learn.
* thinks about hot selling ps3 exclusives like MGS4,GT5p,uncharted etc*
Again Namco I ask... if its honestly "about the fans" then where is Ace Combat on the PS3? Why is it okay to disappoint them? I'd love a reason.
But he seriously reminds me of one of the characters from Point Blank.
But am buying a PS3 this saturday. A resistance 2 bundle. bUT,theres only 3 games I want for it. killzone 2,Tekken 6 and FF13. so after Im done with R2,it will wait in dormancy.BUT IM so not going to buy Tekken for 360.Not on that dpad.hell no.never ever. Its bad enough with SC4,it works. . .just not as responsive as SC 3 on the ps2 controller.
... and if you're not gonna push a system to do something the others cannot, you may as well... that's a hard fact I've had to accept. Just like the fact that I 've had to accept that multi-plat PS3 games are basically just 360 game code running on my PS3.
