Most games should be played at Medium Settings. Older games game be played high or Ultra depending, and new AAA games should be played on low settings considering low became console settings for PS4/XBO.

I think a lot of people still don't realize with it displaying games at 720p it gives it a chance to catch up some to desktop pc performance - being that they will be using more resources for much higher resolutions.

At least you can use a mouse/keyboard that would be needed for any MMOs or RTS games.

Mr Logic1302d ago

Don't forget the touch pads. Those that have used them have said they're surprising competent as a mouse replacement.

Inverno1302d ago

Don't forget the touch screen. They really do have the PC crowd in mind with all the alternative controls they packed into the thing. I'm hoping this changes devs mind on gyro controls. Really enjoy playing shooters more with gyro

The Steam Controller is still easily my favorite for PC games, though I do switch sometimes to the dual sense and love that that it's starting to be fully utilized on the platform.

Steam Controller takes a little while to get used to, and you typically need to create a profile to make it work best with different games, but it's an awesome controller with a lot of versatility.

I'm sure the Steam Deck will be just as great, if not better.

Can't wait for December to see what people say about this

My only regret is I'm unable to get it sooner

DLSS should help the Nintendo Switch 2 with longevity

Profchaos2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Based on so e of the impossible ports we saw on switch 1 I'm not worried about the hardwares longevity.

Next gen systems ps6 and next box might slow down switch 2 development but given leaks showing PlayStation releasing a new portable system around the same time as ps6 that can play ps5 games says that next gen cross gen seems to be poised to last the entire generation

And right now I'd say there isn't much that couldn't be scaled down to run on switch 2

Goodguy013d ago

Nvidia or Nintendo need to come out and detail how dlss will work on switch 2. Like is it dlss4? Or just completely customized for the switch.

Tacoboto3d ago

I'm sure they've detailed exactly that in documentation provided to developers.

It will probably be behind a $20 demo that we have to download. 😂

PRIMORDUS3d ago

I like to know as well, which version of DLSS? 2, 3, 3.5 or 4? I mean it's not that hard for Nintendo to say which version games will use.

Profchaos2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Given the specs of the system and the time the hardware was produced if I had a stab in the dark I'd say a heavily customised dlss3

Neonridr3d ago

it's GPU is based around ampere technology, which is 3 series cards tech. So some features from DLSS4 can be ported down to older cards, just not some 5 series exclusive features like multi-frame gen.

40fps docked is a interesting choice as it's in the vrr range but we don't have confirmation of vrr docked
