It and Forza MS really are beautiful. The only games that compare graphically to me are Demon Souls and Black Myth: Wukong. And I can't leave out RDR2.

I'll definitely be playing both of them. Haven't played a racing game in looooong time.

Sony doesn't have any open world racer and Forza Motorsport has long since surpassed gran Turismo Sport. Look at the meta critic. Widely accepted by the industry for both horizon and Motorsport

Forza Motorsports is a driving simulator and Forza Horizon is a arcade driving game. I wish people would quit comparing them with each other. They are two very different driving games.

And this article.... Again should separate arcade and simulators. There should not be a single driving genre. Driving sims are meant to as closely as possible simulator real world driving. arcade driving games take the shackles of reality off and are all about fun.

All Forza Horizon games were the best racing game and since then no arcade racing game could even come close.

I agree tried all others and just felt OK compared to the horizon games. I kind of wish Sony kept MS as this could of been there version of Horizon.

For me though over the years the Xbox had always been the better console for racing games even back to the original Xbox with games like Rally sports(think it was called) Sega GT, For a MS, Project Gotham to name a few.

Driveclub was also great on ps4, both consoles have basically had the same racing games on both platforms minus forza, GT, driveclub and PR.
So I'm not sure why you say MS has the best racers for?

I disagree DC was not a great game or was an poor game that became OK after updates.

I also said said for me the Xbox has always been the better console for racing games.

Last gen the ps had DC and GTS that's it as an exclusice Xbox one had 3 for a MS and 3 horizons.

But as I said back when we had the original xbox it had better exclusive racing games.

Looked very nice, awesome to play, but the a.i. was terrible in way that you could let your opponents take half a lap and you would still be able to catch on and get first place but wouldn’t be able to get a bigger gap than 2 or 3 seconds when leading. Weird.

Agreed. Hopefully Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is good too as that was really the first of the CarPG genre and would love to see more games. I'd play a GT Horizon because I personally don't care much for track racing.

Well with Horizon I think they have an awesome formula, that appeal to a lot of ppl. I for myself only had PS consoles and Nintendo before I bought an Xbox one for Forza Horizon 3 and 4. Now, for Microsoft consoles I got a Series X and I have a big catalog of games but this year my most anticipated game above all is Horizon 5. I think they keep getting better and better! Of course everyone has his favorites games and that's the beauty about gaming, but here I feel exactly the same as the writer of this article.

Forza Horizon is on its own track at this point. Other racers like The Crew and NFS are around but they are too different to stand out compared to Forza Horizon.

I can see how kids and teenagers get into a franchise like this, with its Lego and Hotwheels DLC + really basic driving physics and low skill level. Its a great entry game to get your kids into racing games.
It's a real shame about the location this time around, its a massive come down going from England to 3rd world Mexico. I think alot of people were hoping for Japan, especially for those Touge street circuits.

To say this is the best racing game of all time is a huge statement to make. I understand you may be excited, but dude... there are like decades of racing games out there.

To be the best ever (at least for me), it would need beat all of the below games in their respective category (which is impossible..lol)

My favorite racing games for each racing Genre:
1. Open World Arcade Racing Game: Burnout Paradise (all platforms (starting on ps3/Xbox 360))
2. Simulation: Automobilista 2 (PC)
3. Simcade: Gran Turismo 4 (PS2)
4. Combat Racing: Motorstorm (PS3)
5. Checkpoint Racing: Daytona USA (Arcade)
Bonus: A really cool racing game I never hear anyone talk about : Split/Second (PS3)

Will it be the best open world arcade racing game? It could be, but we'll see.
Graphically, it looks amazing. But is it fun?

The sheer ridiculousness of this post title. The gen isn't even a year old. And before you say anything equally ridiculous, yes, it's on Xbone, but if we're talking last gen, we need to be clear.

Honestly it most likely will be. Full disclosure, I'm pretty much a die hard PS "fanboy" lol and the Forza games that I've played including the latest Forza Horizon have never failed to insanely impress me and are absolutely stunning in the graphics department along will stellar gameplay. I love GT, but I really think Gran Tursimo could learn a lot from Playground I believe? And Turn10 and vice versa, even though both games definitely have their own differences that make them unique. I don't have an Xbox Series...anything lol or even an Xbox one anymore but Forza along a handful of other games and gamepass are the main reasons for me wanting to get myself and Xbox series system or even and Xbox one atleast. Both are great systems with plenty ro offer the consumer in terms of value. Just wish I could afford both atm, but soon hopefully.

I really enjoy arcade racer and Forza 4 is one of the best so we can expect things to be even better.

Personal note My favorite racer of this generation has been Wipeout Omega on PSVR
bring all the fun of good old arcade games like Daytona USA and Stunt Runner.
