I've heard the opposite about the movie, but it doesn't surprise me that MS managed to secure the game to a massive series the Japanese LOVE... and it flounders. The Japanese practically loath the Xbox brand.

They literally have nothing to do with the roadmap of the game, they probably don't even know what it looks like and it would be asinine to think a platform holder should have a say in the roadmap of a game.

Man if you are going to tote the marketing and securing western exclusive. They new that Genesis 2 was coming, they new they secured it for exclusive rights in the west. Meaning they should have know the overall road map.

And the fact they didn’t is a full on shame. I own the systems, I played the game, and I’m underwhelmed by the way it’s been handled.

So I will blame MS and Sega (clearly considering it’s their road map that’s disappointing) it’s almost like how disappointing Avengers has been but you can’t blame anyone BUT square enix

The difference here is that Square Enix owns Crystal Dynamics and it's their game.

Microsoft doesn't own Phantasy Star nor Sega and had nothing to do with the development of the game.

Most of this article was focused on player interaction and complaining about the community rather then the game being void of content. The only part I agreed with was the last part calling it an "early access MMO" because for all intents and purposes it is, because they rushed the game out to staive off PSO2's leaking playerbase that's been in freefall since Episode 5. However, making the whole game bad just because some trolls made symbol art with the N word spammed all over the screen is not an issue everyone deals with, so that shouldn't be a focus. You also claimed the game was on Playstation in the west which it isn't.
